Can’t believe this song exists, it’s like a page out of my diary. I fell in love with a boy at the start of this year and our meeting spot was the river near my dads house. We would meet in secret because he was two years older than me, we would meet every Friday. At first it was an innocent friendship, we would lay on the jetty looking at the stars and the moon and watch for shooting stars. We would talk about philosophy and our cosmic and spiritual beliefs and had so much in common. We’d lay there for hours staring at the moon and admire the reflection it made on the water. After a few weeks of this we were helplessly in love with eachother, convinced we were meant to be in eachothers lives and that the universe had brought us together for a reason, a belief we both still hold to this day. The river was our spot and our home, our meeting ground, the only place we felt safe from other people’s opinions of our relationship considering the age difference. As time passed more people came to know of our meetings at our spot, his fear and anxiety got the better of him and he decided we couldn’t be together and the guilt he felt made him lose feelings for me . It’s been a month since we’ve spoken, I sit on that jetty by the river some nights hoping he will come hold me again like he did on those magical nights. I have lost him and I’m still healing from that, I hope he is too. I will always be thankful for him being in my life even if it was temporary. I will never forget him, my first love.
