i was on the couch one night, listening to "Jazz 24", a streaming channel out of Seattle WA... half-asleep, i heard this song... and was immediately brought back into vivid consciousness- had to sit up, click the mouse to bring the screen back up- so i could learn who the hell this was- and i've been in love with Lizz Wright ever since... i'd heard the Beatle's and Herb Alpert's versions... but this is a new dimension. haunting... (that seems to be a common word in our reviews- and it fits).

I heard this and had to go back and look at who this is. This is so special.
Stumbled upon her CD in Providence, Rhode Island in 2003, as I was traveling to the Newport Jazz Fest. Bought the CD because she was fcuking cute as hell on the cover of the CD. What the hell, I thought.
Then got to Newport . . . and she was on the bill!! Amazing performance.
Later saw her two more times in a small venue in Cleveland . . . what a wonderful performer . . . .
Beautiful, haunting voice reminiscent of Joan Armatrading's rich, expressive tones . Thanks Brian Robinson, for turning me on to her.
It was already a pop classic before the Beatles covered it! I do like this celtic/bluegrass version!
