Liz Phair - My My Lyrics

Take a good look at your dead-end life
Tell me you don't long for the good times
Just a moment to yourself again
Worries disappear where you begin

Got a lot more money and the bitch got style
Gonna drive that honey down the road for miles
Take me far away
Got no reason left to stay

My, my, all good
Feels a bit better than it should
Could've been a good girl but I'm not
Little attitude is what I got

My, my, all good
Feels a bit better than it should
Could've been lies, could've been free
Could've been somethin' in between

Take a slow train to a better place
Wake up somewhere to a sweeter face
Life is short before you realize
You're pushin' daisies straight up to the sky

Got a lot more money and the bitch got style
Gonna tap that honey and they come for miles
To take me on the road
Gonna lose my self-control

My, my, all good
Feels a bit better than it should
Could've been a good girl but I'm not
Little attitude is what I got

My, my, all good
Feels a bit better than it should
Could've been lies, could've been free
Could've been somethin' in between

Take this person you've never known
Find a love you can call your own
Someday maybe you'll recognize
That your beauty lies inside
If you'd just let it out sometime

Oh
Come on
[?]
Oh
Come on

My, my, all good
Feels a bit better than it should
Could've been a good girl but I'm not
Little attitude is what I got

My, my, all good
Feels a bit better than it should
Could've been a good girl but I'm not
Little attitude is what I got

My, my, all good
Feels a bit better than it should
Could've been a good girl but I'm not
Little attitude is what I got

My, my, all good
Feels a bit better than it should
Could've been lies, could've been free
Could've been somethin' in between

funny how our vision of Heaven changes as we get older, now to me, it's just a tiny apartment where i can have my things, and eat all i want...

    E.... R....

    and i will...

Alcohol addiction can take away everything from an individual ! My family was riddled with it ! More help is needed for this cause !

  3. T.... M....

Love this song! Rings a bell.

  4. s.... 1....

    precious .

'I want to die alone with my sympathy beside me'. My life right now. Crying in a shower with my clothes on. Not an uncommon pastime .

The thing about her, she says what we all think, do, or wish. In really plain talk but so tenderly, cutting, beautiful, melodic. We are so lucky to have people like Liz Phair to point the way.

  7. R.... R....

    Love her

  8. J.... H....

Liz's "Sunday Morning Coming Down" - just as sad, and nearly as beautiful. Great song.

Hey Passer59 thank you for posting this-- I just wanted to say that in the lyrics it is Jim Beam not Jim Bean. Not sure if you wrote them out or not. Thanks

sounds like her old song SHITLOADS OF MONEY from 1998 album WHITESPACECHOCOLATEEGG, enyone agree? haha SOMEBODY'S MIRACLE is far better than her self titled 2003 album

  12. N.... C....

she's not the one drinking, her mom was. her mom did the same thing my mom did to me about smoking, and my dad drinking. they're just trying to keep us from making their mistakes. but, if my dad hadn't gone into rehab to stop drinking, he never would've met my mom, so i cant really say that fate wasn't good to them anyway.

    N.... C....

I believe it is about her brother.

  13. M.... K....

Phair is a true artist. Great song.

  14. j.... ....

@aprilmka I think it is actually a song about really having a tough time in life, and doing the best you can. Certainly abusing alcohol, but I dont think the booze is the point, myself.

    j.... ....

I agree! I've had these types of times in my life. I drank it away and layed on the floor many times till I felt better. Thankfully those were just moments in my life! Love this song

  17. P.... S....

She is telling a very descriptive life of drinking....I am a recovered alcoholic and this song couldn't be any closer to the tragedy of this.

  18. P.... S....

@aprilmka Yes, it is about an alcoholic.

  19. b.... ....

This is filled with such emotion... it makes you sad, but you can't help but love it... and you almost feel bad when you feel good for hearing it, because it's just so powerful.

    I love it.

    b.... ....

Especially when ya can totally relate

  20. P.... ....

i love this song more then any others

  21. T.... ....

Read somewhere that is about her brother, who apparently had a problem with alcohol at some point in his life.
