Little Feat - Hate To Lose Your Lovin' Lyrics

Last night I sat my baby right down
And said the talk's all round the town
You're cheatin' while I work all day
I guess that feelin's finally gone
And I got so tired of spendin' my nights alone
So I packed my bags and I'm goin' away

But I sure would hate to lose your lovin' don't you know
If you said good-bye it just wouldn't feel right some how
'Cause it felt so good
Whole lot better than I thought it could
Honey I hate to lose you now

Well I swore I wouldn't sit and cry
'Cause my baby left me both high and dry
Wouldn't sit and pine gonna move on down the line
Well I knew just what I had to do
Had to find me some love that's new
'Cause lovin's so easy to find

But I sure would hate to lose that lovin' don't you know
If you said good-bye it just wouldn't feel right some how
'Cause it felt so good
Whole lot better than I thought it could
Honey I hate to lose you now

But I think it's gonna be all right
'Cause I found a little girl last night
And she said you better just move on in
'Cause I got my rent paid through next week and I'll be out tonight
But don't ya know I'll do my best to be back by ten

I sure would hate to lose that lovin' don't you know
If you said good-bye it just wouldn't feel right some how
'Cause it felt so good
Whole lot better than I thought it could
Honey I hate to lose you now
Don't you know
Honey I hate to lose you now
Tryin to tell you
Honey I hate to lose you now

No Lowell George, no Little Feat...sorry, but that's just the truth

  2. s.... ....

Paul Barrere, guitarist and vocalist for the iconic eclectic rock band Little Feat, passed away on October 26th, 2019 at the age of 71 {liver cancer}...
Mr. Barrere joined the band in 1972 and was a member of the band for almost 50 years. He could not play on Little Feat’s current tour as he was getting treatment for liver cancer. Barrere was in the band for their landmark 1973 album, 'Dixie Chicken', contributing the song “Walkin’ All Night". After original member Lowell George died in 1979, Barrere became the principal songwriter for the band...
    May he R.I.P.
Note: "Hate to Lose Your Lovin'" peaked at #1 {for 4 weeks} on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart on August 14th, 1988...

Drum track is ultra insanity level of difficulty. Absolutely beastly

  6. J.... F....

The drums on this track are killer!

  7. k.... ....

no one ,, and I mean no drummer ever played that New Orleans second line in rock n roll like Richie Hayward !!! I am a prof Latin Percussionist that spent years playing in NOLA ,, every time my band started rehearsing some Little Feat the drummer always said it was the funkyest drumming they had ever played !!

    k.... ....

so true. The 2nd line stuff has this wobbly sag to it and he gets that EXACT feeling. Very very very loose but oh so tight ... i just cannot figure out how he got that insanely juicy funky sound

    k.... ....

Zigaboo Modeliste is unreal too with the Meters. Eclectic gumbo of influences with a splash of rock. 2nd liner par excellence.

  8. S.... ....

36 people that disliked this got shrunken.

  9. J.... ....

Man I amember when this came out - was so thankful the band got back to it.
Sure there was no replacing the guy lost but gotta keep rolling on ... too.

  11. E.... C....

Richie's drumming sounds like your luggage falling down a flight of stairs perfectly in time

  12. B.... i....

Whatever style your playing as a drummer, this song should be one of your staples.

    B.... i....

it's so so so so sooooooooooo hard to get that insanely perfect wobbly sound though. OMFG was Richie good. Sick!!!!

Craig fuller is a Cincinnati Ohio man if I'm not mistaken. We love to have you as one of our own Mr Fuller. Sing a song about Cincinnati sometime would you, make it joyous and rockin and a little funky...we would be swollen with pride sir if you did!

    t.... j....

Used to listen to Pure Praire League playing live in bars on Mount Adams in good old Zinzinnati, Oh HI oh!

    t.... j....

I love Craig. Great guy. This song is one of his best.

  27. S.... H....

As a drummer , I always thought that the fundamentals were displayed, as an example of how to " breathe life" into the 'written text'. Rich Hayward's "humanity" is on full display....taking us on a journey of guessing, & recognizing that " ghost-notes" are as significant , as those struck...& the inner-groove is intact.....

  28. D.... R....

Lowell George should be proud of his band.......

    D.... R....

    Douglas Ranger amen brother!

  29. K.... L....

    Great !

  30. D.... C....

I'm a profesional Broadway show drummer and this brings me to tears every time I listen to it.

    D.... C....

That first drum roll and the kick drum at the very beginning is just priceless.

    D.... C....

that is definitely some slinky groove. I do not believe it can be taught. It's non-intuitive to study subdivisions and to be concerned with accuracy and the space between notes then? You hear this punk sloshin and groovin like that. Pissin me off as I listen in wonder

    D.... C....

    understood mate.................................. j

    D.... C....

Ritchie Haywood is one of a kind. Period. Such an immense talent. I just loved his playing. RIP Ritchie. And thank you for the excellence.

    D.... C....

    I'm with you there...

  31. A.... R....

    A.... R....

More than life itself. These guys were the SHIT man!

  33. c.... ....

The first time I heard this song on the radio I knew it was Little Feat. I had no idea they had reformed and added Craig Fuller.

  34. t.... d....

    fuckin kick ass tune

  35. D.... G....

I used to dig this song when it got a lot of air time in the late 80's, then I lost track of it. Awesome rock and roll tune -- a lost classic!

  36. d.... m....

I ran the cassette tape ragged listening to this song!

  37. 1.... ....

    This just kills. Nice!

  38. T.... ....

Mr. Craig Fuller doesn't get much better than this.

  39. J.... K....

right up there with "Waiting for Columbus" priceless

  40. d.... g....

One of the funkiest drum tracks EVER!
Richie Hayward was one of the best drummers ever.
    RIP

    d.... g....

    Amen to that David!!!

    d.... g....

    The beginning shot is great.

    d.... g....

AYE, got to see him, it has taken me years to figure this track out, still no where as good as him, this is one amazing drum track

    d.... g....

david giddens He always looked like he was having the best time of his life!! Definitely one of the best!!✌️✌️✌️👽👽👽😸😸😸

    d.... g....

Damn right! I think he was one of those people that are just born with an exceptional sense of rhythm (and music in general) within them.

  41. T.... -....

This is refreshingly good!  I'd heard the name Little Feat through the years, but never paid much attention to it.  What an exciting arrangement!  Great song!
