Little Feat - Fat Man In The Bathtub Lyrics
Spot-check Billy got down on his hands and knees
He said "Hey mama, hey let me check your oil all right?"
She said "No, no honey, not tonight
Come back Monday, come back Tuesday, and then I might"
My Juanita
I said Juanita, my sweet chiquita, what are you up to?
My Juanita
Don't want nobody who won't dive for dimes
Don't want no speedballs 'cause I might die trying
Throw me a line, throw me a line
'Cause there's a fat man in the bathtub with the blues
I hear you moan, I hear you moan, I hear you moan
Runnin' down the street yelling at the top of his lungs
"All I want in this life of mine is some good clean fun"
"All I want in this life and time is some hit and run"
I said Juanita, my sweet Juanita, what are you up to?
My Juanita
I said Juanita, my sweet chiquita, what are you up to?
My Juanita
Put my money in your meter baby so it won't run down
But you caught me in the squeeze play on the cheesy side of town
Throw me a line, throw me a line
'Cause there's a fat man in the bathtub with the blues
I hear you moan, I hear you moan, I hear you moan

The line about speedballs is eerily prophetic
Masters of Rock n R....................RIP our man Lowell>! 2020 now...!
Just rediscovered this band don't know how I forgot about them I was young probably 3 or 4 in the early 90's ...happy to be back!
Ooooooooooohhh Yeeeeeeaaaaaah!
The first time I heard this version was riding in the back seat with a paraplegic friend driving his Monte Carlo wild passing a joint on the crowded Dallas freeway. There was a big 12" speaker cut into the back window baseboard. And the thunderous Bass made me buy the newly released double lp release.
Cool stuff here. Peace 🌼🌼🌻🌼
RIP to the great Paul Barrere.
Rest In Peace, Paul Barrere.
R I P Paul Barrere. Truly sad to hear this, thanks for the great music and great memories!!
Rest in peace Paul Barrere.🌹
This version doesn't have Ritchie's drum solo...what happened?
One of the best albums ever recorded!
Lowell and Co. The best.
Quintessential Little Feat
I grew up in the DC area where this was recorded and I got hooked on WFC early. Still listen to it all the time. “Great, great music”!
I demand Little Feat in the Hall of Fame...
Incredible album ! Richie Woodward RIP greatest drummer with so much feel so much emotion in his drumming touches my soul
Hot summer nights in the seventies.
Same thing, Lawrence, KS. Martin Logan ESLs. I couldn't stop myself.
They were the unofficial house band at Richard's night club in Atlanta for a whole Summer, week long dates, two shows a night, including the breakfast set ....Jamming sometimes until dawn! Oh Atlanta, Dixie Chicken......
LOVE THIS TUNE HMM, WONDER WHY??? 2019 😂💜💛😂😂

Better than even the Allman"s Fillmore East
When I was in my early 20's, back in the late '80's (and a strict metalhead) my best friend, who was about 10 years older than me, turned me on to this band and this album, and a lot of other great rock and roll as well. I will forever be grateful for the expansion of my musical horizons that ensued. I miss you, Jimmy-Me-Lad. I hope you and those you love are well.
I hear you moan.....Rest in peace Lowell George....you're sadly missed.....🎸🎼🎶💜🍀❣💕❤🎷🎹🎺🎻
George is one of the great sliders of all time. He'll never get his due by the young bucks unless they seek him out. I saw them open for Jimmy Buffett, but after Lowell was dead.
Shine on Lowell!! 😻🤘🏼🍍💕😎☘️💯
I'm likin the cowbell
Sweeeeet chikita🎶🎶🎶
This the album I always put on for house-cleaning.

Happy 4th of July my fellow Rock n Rollers.....#RedheadDeadhead
Heard an interview with the band they said that Lowel made each of them record their parts separately and nobody knew the whole song until it was done. Then they learned to play it together live and it took a while because it's quite a deceptively complex piece of music. What a great song!
I absolutely LOVE Lowell George!! Sexy af....RIP
She really should've let him check her oil that night
Peter Frampton, eat your heart out!
Easter Sunday, mom tells me to put this song on.... Okay mom

2018 MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR Y'ALL !!!🎊🎈🎉🎅🎊🎈🎉🎊🎈🐉
Got kicked out of a kick ass apartment in Austin for playing this song on a Sunday morning with 125 watts per channel blasting through pioneer speakers. Still great 40 years later.
I FKN Love that!
Dude I’m gonna play it in your honor with 300 until my house slides into the roundabout...it’s great to be old, and know you finally have more money than time left...
Bob Schmucker damn I heard them Bose recreating a train sound about’79 at John Curry’s studio in Tuscaloosa. I couldn’t believe they could take unlimited power (like the Emperor Palpatine!)
no justice........
james bueker I once had a stereo system with 4 Kenwood JVL 640 speakers, a tuner and an equalizer. If you turned it up to 4, you could hear it at the end of my block. neighbors hated me! I threw frequent parties, and had the cops called on me more than once
best live album of all time, but then I narrow nowt
I got to see Little Feat (with Lowell George) in 1978 in Austin, Texas at the Paramount Theatre not long after they put out Waiting for Columbus. A very memorable show.
One of my fav LF tunes... I think it stuck with me subconsciously as I married a Latina from Ecuador and I call her Chaquita. It's good to be the "Papi" ;)~
Love this song! Funny shit!
Spanish Moon is the best! This, for me, is 2nd.
I have seen Little Feat live a bout a dozen times and I always like when they do this song!!
SO many memories....thanks for uploading.

Best live album ever I don't think so
i sing this to my husband Billy all the time
Cynthia Dean u got one lucky husband
I most certainly do...
Maybe the best band ever. All of them were great musicians and Lowell George was a songwriter and singer of enormous talent, as well as being a slide guitarist without peer. I never tire of listening to their great albums from the 70s. Oh, to be that young again!!!
Perfectly put. I've wondered if Lowell wasn't the greatest 'combo' rock musician ever? Who could write, play and sing like him?
Maybe not the best band ever maybe a good band but definitely not the best
Oh, yeah- Old Folks Boogie!!
this, and Dixie Chicken
So sorry about Lowell
TO BAD THESE GUYS BLEW THERE HEADS UP, GREAT BAND OF MUSICIANS

I hear you moan, I hear you moan, I hear you moan
Billy got so sad, dejected, put on his hat and start to run
Runnin' down the street yelling at the top of his lungs
"All I want in this life of mine is some good clean fun"
"All I want in this life and time is some hit and run"
I said Juanita, my sweet Jaunita, what are you up to?

One of the greatest songs ever
There will never be another band like LITTLE FEAT!
Just saw FEAT at Humphries in San Diego and they rocked it ! GO SEE THEM WHEN THEY COME TO A CITY NEAR YOU ! ! !You Tube their Humphries SanDiego SHOW
Thank you very much for uploading. Little Feat forever!
The start of this song reminds me of David Bowie's "Modern Love"
Happy Thanksgiving :) QC
When I was a kid I thought this song was hilarious and believed it was about a literal fat dude taking a bath and singing to himself.
Styxhexenhammer666 yes
But now you know it's about a clitoris.
Rumor had it that this song is about a clitoris.....'fat man in the bathtub'.....and all it's adventures. Knowing Lowell's sense of humor I have no doubt.
Okay, well, then, you're saying the clitoris has the blues? Um...
Juanita is a dealer and a whore. He wants drugs... a dime or a line... she won’t open the door because she has a John in the bathtub.
I absolutely LOVE LITTLE FEAT! Though my feet are quite huge!
First heard this song while on the road with my Brother, he was smoking a joint while driving, I was watching the road while trying to pay attention to the song. Probably would've been an easier ride had I smoked it with him.
No LSD?
You guys are ALL correct. Some of the best real american music ever.
This song is very underrated, IMO its one of Feats best.
Michael Clark I agree ☺️
Underrated by who? It is a great song. Studio version or live!
Lowell and Linda's Willin.
Michael Clark under "feat" ed

AN all time great song. So intense!
Was 18 when Waiting for Columbus came out. I'm from the beach in California and still today this is one of my all time favorite bands and albums. Thank you Lowell and LF for continuing to give me music joy to this day! Brings back some good times and makes me feel young again!
+Jim Kendrick The best live album ever made. (Period)
