Yep, Mike's lyrics are incredibly raw in this song. His rap verses in this song alone puts a lot of today's emcee's to shame. I wish he would do this raw xero style again because he's such a great but underrated rapper. A of lot people tend to underestimate him due to the bias behind the nu-metal era.

Only mark can sing This song well (besides mikes parts obviously), Chesters voice doesn't belong in this song

I disagree, considering that Chester overall has a more powerful and versatile vocal range then Mark does. If anything, I think Mark doesn't fit the song very well but maybe it's because the Xero album had bad sound quality. Anyway, with Chester's passing, it would be interesting to see what Mark has been up to and I think it would be a great chance for a Xero reunion, remastered Xero songs, or back to roots kind of thing.

Yep, he was on different sick kind of level. If he would have went solo, I would love to see his Reanimation/Hybrid Theory spirit of rap rock go into play considering that would make him stand out amongst the closed-minded hip-hop purists. I wonder what it would feel like if a half white half Asian rocker like Mike put these hip-hop elitists to shame. It would be like 8 mile all over again but nu-metal style. I know he would get points from legends like Cypress Hill.

Shinobi Xero: Sorry, but I still believe that Chester definitely surpasses Mark on every xero song and singing in general. Mark is a good singer but Chester is on a whole other level. Just compare their screaming techniques, sound quality, and vocal range then you can see the difference. No one has convinced me otherwise.

just to be a little bit fair with mark, you are comparing a version that was recorded live with professional equipment and later went to post production for distribution, and on the other hand you have a version was recorded as a demo, with a 4 track cassette recorder with no production at all....technique definitely goes to chester, but quality cant really be part of the equation, if they would have made a fully produced version with mark on vocals, then it be a fair fight of who did it better

theres a version of rhinestone(forgotten) recorded studio quality. listen to it. its good. but its nothing compared to Chester in my opinion

No it's true man. Their recent songs are like a copy from other pop/heavy rock bands, unlike the old songs.

The Hunting Party is more of being inspired than copying other bands. Sure, they were inspired by other bands, from the 80s and 90s tho, and they were trying to make classic heavy rock mainstream again, that's basically what the purpose of this album was. Also, they got older, their music tastes change, and they can't make angsty lyrics anymore. They can't make their old style of music, and they won't. Back then, they were unique. MTM came, they started moving away from nu metal, not as unique anymore. ATS was completely different. LT was basically all their albums, I thought that was unique. THP is not unique when compared to music of all time, but as I've said before, the purpose was to make the classic heavy rock sound mainstream again. I thought it was unique enough for present day, because no one makes that sound anymore.

no videos at all(yet): Angsty lyrics are not directed correlated with sound so you don't have to be angsty lyrically to do Nu-metal music. In other words, you don't have to change your sound in order to be lyrically mature. In fact, their newer material is not that much lyrically mature then their older material and there are even a great number of songs in the newer material that are lyrically less mature then some of their older songs like Papercut, a lyrically intense song about paranoia. P.O.D, a Christian nu-metal band, is a great counterexample of generic angsty nu-metal music like Limp Bizkit and all of their songs are about religion and much more lyrically mature then any of Linkin Park's material. So that's merely more of an excuse to change format for the sake of following trends or worrying about what other people label you as rather than doing the more unique thing by blending in old original sounds with newer sounds, just like what Reanimation did.
