Lindsey Buckingham - Love Runs Deeper Lyrics

Well you came to me
You cooled my mind
The stakes were high
Impossible to describe
I loved you little child
How you mystified
Just a blinding flash
We were parallel lines

Love runs deeper from the underground
Love runs deeper from a broken home
Black angel can't be alone
Love runs deeper from the underground

In the shadow moon
Steel tears I cried
You were out of tune
It seemed to suit my dark side
You had a prophet's pose
And two states of mind
Well I was sure I'd go
We were parallel lines

Love runs deeper from the underground
Love runs deeper from a broken home
Black angel can't be alone
Love runs deeper from the underground

Love runs deeper from the underground
Love runs deeper from a broken home
Black angel can't be alone
Love runs deeper from the underground

I wonder if this song is inspired by the Harry Potter saga? Love it!

Lindsey has never stepped out of his prime. He's still imo, one of the more under rated geniuses of his time. Perhaps due to many ill reasons. Lindsey has always had raw talent many never had. He hit his stride in an era of many great guitarists, tho' most never reached his level of successes (in many ways more than $$$). Critics expected hit after hit, and Fleetwood Mac more than delivered with hits, LP sales, record sized Stadium crowds, one huge tour after another, one big LP after another. The first 2 LP's with Buck-Nicks were as monumental as Rushmore, cementing FM's legacy, even tho' they still can deliver; (of course not in Y2K quit like the 20th century). Seem's like those who determine on paper and awards the guitarist of the year et al, overlooked Lindsey for great guitarist who had been perfecting their craft for a decade or more before Lindsey ever came along, ie Clapton, Page, Beck, (those 3 of a harder rock, & many other differences). Even Frank Zappa was a genius, Ry Cooder wer and are geniuses that also never received their due in their first decade, 'tho musicans musicians would disagree, saying both were geniuses at birth. I believe critics get confused between the fine lines of what a band or team is. FM was often seen as one unit, yet a sum of all parts, and is rightfully so. I do believe critics failed to see the individual in team, the sum parts of a bigger band; ie Lindsey Buckingham is as talented still as anyone who has ever picked up a guitar of any sort, and more so than most. Yet he's not rated on paper equivalent to his LP sales, or concert numbers and fan bases over decades. FM owned 75-85, as many great LP's were printed in those years as any equivalent time in music history, less any disco. Some of the finest LP's took over the air waves, then FM's debut hit, stunned a mass audience, and the world was never the same ~!~ We're not worthy Lindsey but Thanks for 42+ years of pleasure and entertainment.

I love the guitar comments, cause he is SO great, and I am so glad Stevie holds her own against his genius, she didn't just tag along. But his voice?! I think he has and has always had a great voice. I don't have this album Gift of Screws. And do you think he sounds a little like Meatloaf?

I feel lucky I was home to watch this and tape this as well. As a guitarist, I'm curious to know what pickup he has in his signature semi-acoustic guitar. Kind of a cross between a single coil and a humbucker. A P-90 maybe? Buckingham rules, Fleetwood Mac wouldn't have experienced a second life without him or Stevie Nicks for that matter.

Fantastic performance of a great song... like a little brother for "Go Your Own Way", albeit with a much more positive and optimistic outlook. Thanks for posting this - was jogging to this entire album today and realized, it's without a doubt my favorite of all 5 of his studio albums and "Love Runs Deeper" is one of its finest.

Lindsey is a man in his prime. It's a damn shame Stevie gets all the credit. Looking forward to more albums!

Check my channel for a totally different type of guitarist, but just as good.
