The lyric “ less a player and more the played” is so true. Like they have to go on these quest on such a young age. Percy and others fought in a war when they were 12. They never got a real childhood.
So uh, ive heard this a ton of times but everytime i hear george salazar i fangirl so fucken much.
I never realized the similarities between Percy and Jason in their opening scenes in the books at least.
Both story’s start with a field trip on a bus with their bestfriends not knowing what the gods or monsters where. Both of their chaperones where related to Greek mythology, a centaur and a satyr. Then they get attacked by a monster, that’s how they discovered their weapons. Then they get taken to camp halfblood, of course at different times.
I have a feeling Rick did that on purpose.

Saw the show last night and I'd like to say how insanely amazing this song is live: there's a huge banner in the center of the stage with a lightning bolt on it and right before Percy comes out all the actors tear the banner down and he slides out to the front of the stage on his side and yells "LOOK!!" It was the cutest most amazing thing to start off the musical. And whenever a car or vehicle is involved, they all get on these big rolling platforms and when Ms. Dodds transforms, her eyes turn red and the other actors hold up her wings and IT'S SO COOL WHEN PERCY'S PEN TURNS INTO A SWORD. also, lots of furry jokes were made at Grover. It was an amazing show.
