I have loved this man since I was old enough to really listen to music. His songs bring back so many wonderful memories for me. He also reminds me of an old friend of mine who sang ballads like this while playing his 12 string...miss those times. Saw Mr. Lightfoot in Burlington, VT twice over the past 10 years...despite his age and health issues, when I closed my eyes the voice and music were the same. Thank you Mr. Lightfoot for a lifetime of memories. Love you.

This could well be the first music "video," though many others claim that "distinction." By any standard, the "feeling" in this one, and the "music" in this one tops the others in true feeling and originality. Of course I am biased, believing that Lightfoot sings what he believes, and this video artist believes what Lightfoot sings, and it is a fine outcome, indeed. Nicely done to all involved!

@attaremad I have seen Gordon Lightfoot in concert 17 times and loved every second of those concerts. Lightfoot has had some hard times in his life, for sure, and his experiences seem to be woven into his lyrics. Your video is compelling, and has some strange captivation, which, it seems to me, is the point of a music video.

Had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Lightfoot a few years back. Thanked him for being such an inspiration to so many of us, and it was because of him I learned to play the guitar. Sang this song to my children as they went to sleep among many other Lightfoot classics. Very charming man in person. He signed my guitar for my son, who was a fan of his at age 8. Classics like this will never get old.

I have been estranged from my Adult children for 5 years. Whilst I know that only God can heal broken hearts and rebuild relationships, I play this song often. I,m now a man in my sixties, but this song is so effective in providing comfort for hurting people. America has it,s treasures, Gordon Lightfoot is one of Canada,s best ever treasure!

That was the first Lightfoot album I owned. Dreamland is still my favorite song.

I grew up in Lake Tahoe during the summers as a kid. This song plays in my head almost on a monthly basis, at 40 yrs old. My dad would come up to Lake Tahoe from So Cal every summer and as soon as he got to our cabin (my mom took us kids up for entire summer while he worked), he would poor a cocktail and put on Endless Wire and this song has been captivated in my mind ever since.. Its a true hidden gem and that's understatement.. Thanks for uploading. Cheers.

Such a sick, over-abundance of musical talent/ability, to be able to compose/perform/record a song such as this, a "b-side"/"throwaway" (meaning that almost no one knows of it), which for me is right up there with such as "...Read My Mind"...Thanx, Gord.....

Children are extremely resilient when allowed to be themselves.  And what parent hasn't wondered if they could have done a better job of it?  Very shocking when things don't go as expected.  Thank you for making this video to remind there is hope even when we don't understand the grips of our own despair.  : /
