Lewis, Jerry Lee - Folsom Prison Blues (2014) Lyrics
I hear that train a comin', rollin' around the bend
I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when
I'm stuck in Folsom prison, time keeps draggin' by
But when I hear that train a movin'
God, I hang, I hang, I hang my head and cry
You know, I bet there's rich folks eatin' in a fancy dining car
They're drinking Jack Daniels whiskey, smoking big caboose cigars
Stuck in Folsom prison, time keeps draggin' on
Every time I think of them women
God, I think of good ol' San Antone, yeah
Well, now when I was just a baby, baby, my mama told me
Son, you oughta be a good boy, Jerry, don't ever play with guns
Shot a boy in Memphis, I didn't mean just to watch him die
Oh, when I think of good ol' Memphis, Tennessee
Now if they freed me from this prison, if that railroad train was mine
I'd move it on just a little further down the line
Far from Folsom prison, that's where ol' killer needs to be
'Cos them women keep on movin'
My God, they ain't gonna free me from this prison
And that railroad train ain't mine
I know they're never gonna let ol' Jerry get no further down the line
Far from Folsom prison, that's where I ain't gonna be
Woo, them women keep on movin'

Lewis, Jerry Lee Folsom Prison Blues (2014) Comments
There are 3 recordings I never, ever tire of listening to, one is Sing sing sing' by Benny Goodman, 1938, Carnegie Hall, the other is Kathleen Ferrier, 'Blow the wind Southerly' the third is this, how's that for an eclectic musical taste?
Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee are the only 2 people who can do this song justice.
Great, great, great, with or without piano, Johnny would have approved.
He's ninety years old you dumbasses his hands probably hurt
He is not ninety, he is 79 and he still plays piano like a god in his concerts. I think that he didn't choose not to play it. Probably it was the producers
@Luis Méndez Right on Luis He still plays piano like nobody else & after all these yrs If just wants to play guitar & sing on a CD so be it. Those who don't like it don't have to listen to it or buy it.
The Killer is always great, but I need to hear that piano, man.
I know he has the right to play what he wants and he is who he is because he'd never played attention to another opinion instead of his own, but anyway, his piano playing is something I consider a treasure.
+rodrigo suarez of course. I agree with you completely. I feel like something's missing without his piano
This a brilliant new album and while true he doesn't play piano on every song he does still on some! It still is one of the most amazing true classic rock n roll albums to come out in a while. I have loved his big 3! Last Man Standing, Mean Old Man, and Rock n Roll Time!!
+Chad Miller I agree with you, although I liked the past two albums better. This is still pretty good.
Still is the king of the piano
