Levon has been gone for sometime now and still I miss him. Read his book. The band gave us alot of great songs but theres alot of sadness in their story

Almost 7 years since my Dad passed away and I’ve been thinking of him tonight, rediscovered this song and can’t stop crying.. I like to think he and Levon are up there somewhere jamming together

I AM SO LATE to The Band Party and the Levon Helm Appreciation Club. Silly? My soul tells me I love him. My heart hurts because I never told him so. What a talent I never appreciated! Am I wrong or was Levon a beautiful soul? Thank you, Lord, for Levon. His music WILL live for ever.

What I have always liked most about Levon was that he played FOR THE MUSIC-no ego, no pretention-just love of the song. And I am sure he was like that IN HIS LIFE TOO. A true inspiration to me and anyone who LISTENED to him too. And he had the greatest backbeat that I have ever heard.

Levon was Americana..heart and soul...

This leaves me speechless. Praise the lord.

Even with probably only 80% of his vocal range Levon was still one of the best.

I posted this in my memorial to my Uncle Stan, another true artist, and find myself turning to it almost every day. Thank you Levon.

He sings this so well, that it just may be worth looking forward to and joy without earthly concerns, just may be the result, but I have never met anybody who has made the roundtrip.

my husband of 18 years +11 months loved this song. he said it was everything he wanted to say when his time here was over. He wanted happiness because he was bound for glory. April 30, 2014 he went to his glory. Please,no sadness, no tears when you read this. I had my husband taken off life support at around 5:30am. They asked if I needed anything else. I had him scooted over so I could lay with him and tell him all the things I could. I put this song on and played in his arms. At 6:22 my best friend, my lover, my reason for breathing, my everything left to go to Glory. I felt his soul go through me. An actual physical sensation came from him through my body and out my chest. I know that was his sweet embrace telling he will be waiting for me over there. When I left the hospital it was raining but as I pulled in our driveway the warmest ray of sunshine broke through over our house. I looked to the side and there perched on the wire was a male and a female bluebird. That was my husband's favorite bird. I know that was him letting me know he made it there. I have to say telling them to stop life support has to be the easiest hard thing I have ever done. My husband was loved by everyone he ever met. Sometimes I wonder if maybe he wasn't human. Maybe he was an angel sent to teach us about real, honest love and how to be a true friend. He told everyone how God loves us no matter where we are in our journey, that God is here in us. That it's easy to keep Him happy. All he wants is for us to treat his children like we want to be treated. It's not giving to the $10,000,000 building fund at the mega-church. It's feeding a man on the corner. It's saying hello to the lonely. Help where we can. So know that God loves you. Always! Thanks for reading this. And I am bound for glory. This is my truth.

I sense that you have great peace and joy because of the blessing he was upon your life and everyone he knew; what is there to be sad about, you had him for so many years, out of the grace of God, when He didn't HAVE to give you a single day. I don't believe in funerals. I just had memorial service to celebrate my dad's life and it was awesome!!! I know I'll see him "when I go away".. God bless.
