Someone needs to edit all the female backing vocals out of every Cohen song ever. Please, please, please. They are so terrible and distracting.

Actually, I also felt it distracting. 'But only in this one and in other one called 'Anthem'

I don't think they're bad, I just think that he used them too often, and it gets repetitive and predictable.

Apart from the Jennifer Warnes harmonies in Take this Waltz, which are just sublime.

The songs would sound monotone if there were no female background vocals to highlight the chorus. There is nothing distractive about it. That's my opinion. And Leonard Cohen's also. Since he recorded it that way!

My first exposure to Cohen was as a poet in a college poetry course. He fascinated me. I had no idea that he made music, or that I would be utterly electrified by his music nearly forty years later in life. Everybody owes God a death, but I still wish Cohen had managed to stick around for another decade or two. He only got better with age. I miss him, and always will.
