Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same Lyrics

I had a dream. Crazy dream.
Anything I wanted to know, any place I needed to go

Hear my song. People won't you listen now? Sing along.
You don't know what you're missing now.
Any little song that you know
Everything that's small has to grow.
And it has to grow!

California sunlight, sweet Calcutta rain
Honolulu Starbright - the song remains the same.

Sing out Hare Hare, dance the Hoochie Koo.
City lights are oh so bright, as we go sliding... sliding... sliding through.

I remember going to a midnight showing of the whole movie in Denver , CO ,someone opened the exit door of the theater and rolled a keg of beer in , passed out cups . The staff didn't say a word. I was 17 then . What an awesome time to be growing up , that was in 1981. Just some good weed ,and good friends made for some good times in those days.

  2. p.... g....

Some of Page's most dynamic guitar works and we have to watch Plant doing whatever! Lord have mercy.

Robert used his powers of telekinesis to pilot that boat without sails or oars.

  8. K.... S....

Hey let's not forget the late great John Henry Bonham, as usual his drumming in this song spectacular!!

Quien tuvo el privilegio de escuchar esa super guitarra Jimmy Page

  12. S.... ....

This is essentially the sound of a blueprint being created for millions of musicians from future generations to refer to...

  13. Z.... ....

    That drummer's pretty good...

  14. T.... D....

Sweet, powerful, breathtaking almost all the time.
This is not a song. This is a Journey.

  15. D.... A....

I've gone full circle as a music lover several times over by now, seen all kinds of bands, all kinds of musical styles and types but I still am in awe on this performance, just awesome. That 12 string and page, wish i could have seen that performance live.

  16. A.... K....

Does Page have a rhythmic guitarist here?

  17. R.... A....

I think pages amps were modified to put out 150 ,160 watts a piece

  18. A.... H....

They sound better live than in studio ... I love this version of the song remain the same ... The drums; The bass; The voice; The guitar ... Make a mix of incredible sounds!!!

  19. W.... R....

One of the most understated pieces of this song is Johns incredible drumming. It sets the tone for the guitar and bass. All in all, everything about this song is perfect

  20. r.... g....

They are bands and then you have, Led Zep; a complete different entity on a different plane.

  21. D.... H....

I was 13 in the summer of 73 live in Michigan City, Indiana, listen to WLS Chicago radio station and this was the hype being talked about led Zeppelin at MSG for 3 nights?? Anyway was a big event taken place,,, I saw song remains same in summer of 77 @drive inn theater in Jackson, Ky, I was 16...

  22. M.... G....

Jimmy Page, the frickin' master of guitars and humbleness. What an amazing artist - he made that amazing music that he played. Made it from nothing.

  23. C.... P....

If I look for just one word to describe both this song and the performance in '73 at the Garden would be "Magic". The searing vocals, the bass lines, the thunderous drums and the masterful guitar playing!

  24. d.... ....

This is one of the greatest live rock performances of all time.
    300 million records sold
6 albums on the top 100 at the same time.
The most played and requested FM radio song off all time, stairway to Heaven,

    Time fears the Pyramids.
    The Pyramids fear Led Zeppelin.

  25. J.... H....

    DO IT DO IT

  26. R.... R....

The riff at 1:47 is a Stephen Stills lick. 3:10 sounds like Steve Howe.

  27. C.... ....

The only reason not to play this song as loud as you can in your headset is to not go deaf and prevent yourself from being able to listen to it again.

  28. S.... R....

I can't believe this song only has 1.7million views, some newer lesser quality songs have many mores vjews.

    S.... R....

That's the way of the world bud. Anyone who knows what's what knows what's up. That's a fact, jack.

    S.... R....

I think I saw 39 million views of the same performance.

  29. H.... R....

I came here to remember the glorious 1977 tour. They opened with TSRTS, and, we have no officially released live multi-track recordings for any tours after 1973. So this track takes me to those fantastic openings for their '77 tour.

  30. t.... ....

Que bendición tener ese talento para la guitarra ¡¡¡¡ Jimmy un maestro¡¡¡¡

  31. p.... m....

Guess Page rewrote guitar history right here.

  32. X.... E....

    They're on fucking fire here

  33. v.... ....

    Who's welsh?

  34. S.... ....

AT THAT SHOW, THIS BAND JUST SOUNDED LIKE A V12 SUPERCAR ENGIN.

    BEST OF THE BEST, AMAZING.

  35. W.... W....

Jimmy Page..... because sometimes 6 strings isn't enough.

  36. n.... ....

Wow....look at Jimmy's dance moves. He should have been a Soul Train dancer.

  37. C.... E....

Marvellous guitar solo! Jimmy at his prime!

Listening to this since 1975 and all of this Remastered Crap doesn't sound right, anyone else understand???

  46. c.... b....

This performance in particular might be my favorite piece of music and I like a lot of different music. Beautiful composition delivered with God- like swagger.

  47. J.... S....

I know this concert was in July 1973 but does anybody know the actual date

  48. d.... ....

Jimmy Page is THE guitar God but I think people never mention how Epic of a poet Robert Plant IS, like the words and emotions and visual candy this dude creates. I close my eyes and see everything he speaks and the music paints the scenery he emotes, together THEY are GREATNESS

  49. C.... P....

Jimmy Pages Double Neck- THE MOST ICONIC GUITAR IN ROCK HISTORY. Just Sayin'!!!

  50. P.... V....

Ugh jimmy page the fucking GOAT !!!!!! 😍

  51. R.... K....

Both Jimmy and Bobby totally transformed my life as I now am asleep for most of the 24 hour day as all dreams make sense to me and the physical waking world makes none at all, where as before it was the other way around. I found and got in touch with my spirit finding out the meaning of existence with this music and I live in the dream world and now write about it. Thank you Jimmy and Bobby! See you in my dreams.....

  52. G.... V....

Jimmy can do what two guitarist can’t

  53. K.... R....

My favourite Zep song such an amazing depth of sound..blistering solos, power sliding chords, and that blues based rythum

  54. M.... M....

Zeppelin has an amazing number of younger fans, more than any other band, including the Beatles. Kids who weren't alive before the band broke up.

  55. E.... ....

Love the LIVE version of this!

  56. D.... A....

The opening of TSRTS and the Stairway solo played live during Zeppelin's heyday are my favorite. Rock guitar at it's ultimate, Page pushed the instrument to it's limits. Just awesome.

  57. E.... F....

    Crazy Dream ....

  58. R.... T....

    Rock Gods

  59. b.... ....

JB and JPJ are dialed in

Best version ever. Jimmys greatest live performance

  64. j.... ....

when page ruled the fucking world PERIOD

  65. L.... C....

What a privilege it was to have experienced this band live in 1977. One if the highlights of my youth.

  66. a.... l....

I always assumed this song (and its title) was a bit of a pisstake of Yes.

  67. A.... ....

Best live performance of anything, ever.

  68. J.... V....

I hate this video it doesn't go with the song at all if you look at Jimmy's fingering in the beginning.

    J.... V....

Joshua Vargas It was out of the movie, “The Song Remains the Same”, and each of them had a fantasy that was played into the movie, along with segments of live performances. See RP interview with Peter Grant. And the movie was played in theaters everywhere when John Bonham died.

  69. k.... m....

Maior banda de todos os tempos !

  70. J.... C....

I like very much what Page does in the guitar in this piece. It's amazing.

  71. M.... S....

    Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy !!!!!😘

  72. J.... B....

Such great music. Such a horribly edited movie.

  73. E.... R....

  74. R.... B....

    That intro us fucking awesome

  75. G.... R....

Seems god made earth so Led Zeppelin would have a place to stand while making history,no one will ever come close to these cats .we used to where there 3/4 concert tee, jeans and Chuck Taylor's and off to school after a doobie ahhhhh....gone but not forgotten, led zeppelin" WAS "our childhood!!!!!

  76. j.... L....

Ty Mom for making me listen to music I wouldn't be a drummer today this was my first song I learned

  77. J.... C....

TSRTS was panned when it first came out and even the band themselves said that it was a mediocre performance, but for me, inspite of all the live stuff they have officially released since, this is still their best and it was made into a film!

    J.... C....

    Jonathan Clarke 17

    J.... C....

They must be super perfectionists, because I'm a musician, and have played guitar for 55 years. And it's by far the best version I've heard. Earl's Court comes close, but that last few minutes of the solo in this version really gives it the edge. The staccato flamenco bit, followed by the fastest finger riff I've ever heard, leading to the frantic pace to the end. Wow!

  78. N.... Z....

its always about the soul of bonzo

  79. C.... P....

    Zeppelin is The Best Ever.

  80. B.... T....

Song Remains the Same > The Rain Song became a staple at Led Zeppelin shows, almost always paired together, they complement each other so well

  81. D.... B....

From 3:08 to 3:21 is wonderfull!!

  82. R.... B....

fullpck ang sinehan ng panoorin ko ito

  83. m.... t....

Now that's what you call a well-oiled machine...

  84. P.... 7....

This blew me away in 1974 and ditto today.
    The Welsh flag.....
Yeah. Seems appropriate for one of the best LZ songs ever.
...The segue into "Rain Song" is fucking magnificent.
