LCD Soundsystem - Change Yr Mind Lyrics

I ain't seen anyone for days
I still have yet to leave the bed
It's impossible
Feeling safe with it now
I'm impossible
Getting used to it now

I've just got nothing left to say
I'm in no place to get it right
And I'm not dangerous now
The way I used to be once
I'm just too old for it now
At least that seems to be true

I have a penny for your thoughts
If you could keep them to yourself
About you slipping away
I feel you slipping away
Don't want to hear it all now
Of how I'm slipping away

I can't make you a promise
We're not professionals
But if we don't like what it feels like
And if we don't
Don't like where it's been

It could be over if you change your mind
If you change your mind
If you change your mind
If you change your mind
If you change your mind
If you change your mind
You can change your mind
You can change your mind

LCD Soundsystem Change Yr Mind Comments
  1. Vinicius Oliveira

A mix of Talking Heads/"Scary Monsters" from Bowie/Early 80's King Crimson (the guitars are soooo Frippertronic-Adrian Belew). Fripp also played in Scary Monsters, by the way. First LCD song i heard and i still love it!

  2. discorobotification

I feel like this sounds like a mix between something unreleased from remain in light by the talking heads and ashes to ashes by bowie.

    ubu 9

More "scary monster" to me but yes a mix from Bowie and talking heads.

  3. read only

    my adolescence, scary monsters [+super_creeps} ::: :

  4. ABNTGeneric

    Talking Heads.

  5. JDMime

Second favorite song from this album. very Bowiesque

  6. ripelivejam

I'm probably one of the few that care about the direct but pretty depressingly crushing lyrics and the build in them and not so much about who the song is paying homage to...

    discorobotification

Oh, I care about the lyrics, but also the musical references too. I definitely have sang along to LCD Soundsystem songs while i'm down, and the older i've gotten i've increasingly listened to losing my edge on repeat.
I'm fine though if you're wondering.

  7. dave wolfram

music is a collection of ones influences, how could it not sound like alot of other good music?

  8. Bobble Head

I love how crazy the guitar sounds

  9. ejrives

Man, Tyler is amazing in this song. One of my favorite bass lines

  10. Alex Scooter

    Bowie ?

  11. Nicolas.C

sounds like Dare I Care from Julian Casablancas + The Voidz

  12. Cristian A

LCD is besides of our favorite artists

  13. 4 sali

Sounds like Talking Heads and with the voice from Heaven 17

    Ken H

Brian Eno's vocals also used to sound kind of like Murphy's in this song: "Baby's On Fire" kind of vibe.

  14. Colonial Waster

Great to hear this previously unreleased Talking Heads song from 79 or 80

    Stephanie Agnew

Colonial Waster HA! No wonder I'm so smitten!!!

    Fumber Bumpkin

It was released, it's called Mind

  15. David Longoria

Reminds me of Breaking Glass by Bowie

  16. Jesper Hankerson

He can do it as Talking Heads/Bowie/Eno have done it. Here's the proof…future of music equals its past. Stagnating on the Shoulder of Giants.

  17. Nachos Borealis

    Talking Heads straight up

  18. jkeigh

It will shine and it will shudder as I guide it with my rudder on it's metal waaayss.

  19. Jeff Reznik

James is such a master at blending his influences.

  20. stopaskingmeformyname

God this is so good. It's straight Adrian Belew Talking Heads genius.

  21. Gwallraff

this song is like a companion piece to Brian eno > before and after science > no one recieving. I dont know, both are great anyways.

    Limbus

Right! And the guitar solos sound like something from Scary Monsters (Fashion?) :)

  22. Chris Dibsdall

Reminds me of Houses in Motion at the start and generally of the Remain in Light album.

  23. lukas fortin

ok;ok.it's really good......but just listen "seen and not seen"of talking heads and you'll understand what i mean.nothing new under this (tired)sun...

  24. goodnewsfromthenext

Sounds a bit like Simple Minds - Love Song

  25. D. Snelson

0:18 in and this is my favorite track. Definite Byrne/Bowie/Eno references. Sounds like a combination of Lodger (African Night Flights), then My Life in the Bush of Ghosts.

    Masterpiece...

  31. Lcdsoundfan

    Bowie on 'Low'

  32. Paul V.

Very early Talking Heads and Bowie/Eno inspired.
With all that special LCD sauce slathered all over it!

    Planet Claire

Paul V. definitely Bowie ... even the guitars could be fripp and belew shooting licks at each other. this is ear candy of the highest order

    Jimmy Salinas

    talking heads!!

  33. Jorge Gomez

    Genial!

  34. Mar Salazar

    love it
