I really like the lyrics after seeing the video. But reading your explanation made me laugh ahaha. He's so adorable. Why does the eng ver sound so sensual tho lol

Perhaps you're wondering why this whole song is about a 'seashell girl' and has nothing to do with tattoos? Well it's because it doesn't have anything to do with tattoos at all, and it's Lay's song for his fans! After the song XBACK came out from his last album, which was a gift to his fans, girls started calling themselves 'bei ke nv hai' or literally, seashell girls. They actually meant for it to sound like a homophone for 'back' (as in xback), but lay thought they were just referring to themselves as being 强硬/strong, tough. So he ended up writing a whole song about it in this album, because this man loves and appreciates his fans like nobody else :')

long story short the chinese versions are all better than the english versions and if there's one chinese song on his album that you should know the lyrics for it's this one thanks for coming to my ted talk

I also think the chi vers are better than the eng vers bc i believe he wrote those first which means they are the original feelings he was trying to portray. He knows chinese better too so its easier for him to get his words out

When I listened to tattoo English version I was like....I like it cause it’s lay but it’s pretty shitty this I moved to the Chinese version and of course a masterpiece with the cutest backstory...now that EXO comeback WITH lay !
