Laura Story - Great God Who Saves Lyrics

Oh the promises of God,
The rock on which I stand
The Truth to which I cling
His love that knows no bounds
He showers us with grace
Withholding no good thing

When I stumble
And my faith is small
I will call your name
Great God who saves

I would have despaired
If I had not believed
That You would come to me
Great God who saves
In my darkest hour
Your mercy and Your power
Are reaching out to me
Great God who saves

Oh the mystery of God,
Who holds all space and time
Yet knows my every need
The vastness of Your power
The strength You give the weak
I soar on eagle's wings

When I stumble
And my faith is small
I will call Your name
Great God who saves

I would have despaired
If I had not believed
That You would come to me
Great God who saves
In my darkest hour
Your mercy and Your power
Are reaching out to me
Great God who saves

And in my pain and in my need
You heard me calling out Your name
When I was blind and could not see
You stepped in and saved a wretch like me
You saved a wretch like me

And I would have despaired
If I had not believed
That You would come to me
Great God who saves
In my darkest hour
Your mercy and Your power
Are reaching out to me
Great God who saves
[repeat]

    2 Chronicles 29:27
Hezekiah gave the order to sacrifice the burnt offering on the altar. As the offering began, singing to the LORD began also, accompanied by trumpets and the instruments of David king of Israel.

@salzwell25 In a spirit of curiosity, may I ask what you consider to be "godly" music? Could you kindly perhaps provide an example? Thank you.

@plainjanesmith--You continue to quote scriptures to defend your stance; however, the devil knows the scriptures, too. In fact, he even tried to use them to tempt Jesus! How about we just "let everything that hath breath praise the LORD" and leave it at that?

  22. L.... ....

    @plainjanesmith
Music of heaven can have many varieties. Singing straight from the heart, and our thinkings, without hustle is what God want from us.

Such assuredness about an unknown truth is troubling, plainjain. How can one speak so certainly about the music of a place to which you have never been?

God makes it clear that His concern is not in WHAT we bring to Him but THE WAY in which we bring it. The Psalmist writes this, "You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise."
