As someone who loves pop music as much as rock music (or better put, as someone who doesn´t care at all about the genre of a song as long as I like it), I feel kind of sad about the bad reviews this album got from many fans who didn't seem to understand what they were trying to convey with it. For me, listening to this record is what turned a band I simply liked into one of my favourite bands in the world, probably because I love when someone do not take themselves too seriously. I love the irony and the joke they played with this work. I love how they pretended to sell-out by making poppy and catchy tunes, with lyrics about superficiality, but also about being themselves, not losing their essence, pushing their boundaries, etc. and implied that by doing that they were being more authentic and true to themselves than by making the same, dark, gothic type of music they had been doing before, because that is what they wanted to do at the moment and, well, because they liked it!

When I listen to the lyrics of this song, I interpret it as a statement, like it is dedicated to all those who complained about them getting more commercial: "So you don't like poppy stuff? Here you have, I am going to do the music I like regardless of what you say or think", and I applaud them for that.
