2020 LISTENING LACUNA COIL! THE BEST EVERRRRR

Possibly the only band i have EVER been glad to see live, was when Lacuna Coil opened for stone sour at Val Air in Des Moines Iowa. The only reason i went was for Lacuna Coil. I hate crowds, always have, and i willing went to a concert just to see them.

Love them still to this day, and i would even still go to a crowd to see them again. I cant think of any other situation i would do that for

The problem with this cover is the same as with the cover by Disturbed to "The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel, or to be more accurate, overdoing it. The melody is so powerful and dramatic to begin with, that the way to get the balance right is to keep the singing calm (get it? Depechde Mode reference). The reason Dave Gahan doesn't scream the melody is because screaming it adds unnecessary dramaticism to an already dramatic song.


The lady singing actually did a great job, it's the guy screaming the chorus that ruins it. Without it, I could call it the best Depechde Cover yet, but I can't because of the issue mentioned.

In that case you can not listen to this song and "enjoy the silence"

Wow, I know the purists are gonna hate me but I have to admit, it’s 2019 and where the hell was I all this time, to have missed this out on this band all these years. It’s actually a Megadeth song « A tout mes amis » that brought me here because of the amazing Cristina that sang in the video, I thought she’s was so hot and now I love her even more knowing that she actually has her own band and a badass lead vocalist. Great sound and one of the best female metal singer that I’ve heard in a long time

I'd personally argue that the Hybrid cover is the best one if anything just due to sheer production value but then again Hybrid absolutely smash production out of the park everytime.
That's not to say this version isn't good though, because it's still amazing

But my interpretation of Depeche mode words might be quite literal: words are very unnecessary. Therefore the words that are being spoken must be only there to shape the sound or for you to understand the story.

I like DM well enough, but in this case I find the cover superior. Guess I'm not as big a fan of the original as I thought. I couldn't name four songs by Lacuna Coil other than Our Truth (only because it was a huge club favorite a while back) but I'm gonna have to start checking out their covers cuz they've got some powerful sleepers lurking around.
