I got the "Songwriter" movie soundtrack cassette before seeing the movie... When I first heard this song, I pictured a "highway, bridge, traveling" kind of scene in the "theatre of my mind."  COME TO FIND OUT, that's how the song is used in the movie!!

This song is when I knew Dad was gone,( in a dream) woke up right then and knew. I in his beloved Arkansas and him in California (family reasons) so It was from (standard time) waking up staring straight at the first stereo I finally could afford ( 1994) 12 hours to stay at home till someone decided to go tell me ( crazy) ( just a year I had found out that my own family seriously thought I was before that most of the time people seemed to think it just funny and cool to think crazy was like a slang like cool used to be) anywho I just wanted to share reason I liked kristofferson was because Jesus was a Capricorn album just came out and my mom and another of my older sisters were discussing it,unaware of me at the moment, tribute to that sister even though I won't ever go around or ever let her know, had to do it, just in case someone might know her and me and read it someday and tell her. I don't want to tell her myself because then she'll just think I'm begging her to see that I'm not seriously crazy. I just won't bribed or be sneaky like she might still believe ok, enough Peace

@Kine1 No, I didn't, but you're right, a bit she does, especially when Kris is looking at her from behind the horse... You confused it a bit, the movie is Heaven's gate, but I'm sure you knew it :) Didn't they use some awesome scenery pictures in it?? That's just brilliant to me...

@touttamoi ... have just watched the last scenes again keeping my eyes more on the lady than on Kris lol They used so much make-up for this scene on the boat. But you're right, this wasn't Ella... I really was wondering how she could have survived these wounds in the 19th century. There was no Dr. House back then lol So, what about the ending? That he has never found another real love? Maybe that's it. I was surprised that he didn't burn down the boat with the lady and himself finally lol

@touttamoi Louise, in the movie I know they are on a yacht at the end, Ella is in an armchair or on a sofa and maybe not able to walk, but she's alive... I should check it out again... Thanks for the thumb up :-)
