Kinks, The - Predictable Lyrics
Don't know why I'm even bothering.
(Predictable)
Yeah, that's the mood I'm in.
Go out for a walk then I come back in.
(Predictable)
(Predictable)
Every day of my life
Can't even communicate with my wife
(Predictable)
That's the word of the year
(Predictable)
All I see, all I hear.
Go to my office, sit at my desk,
Predictably just like all of the rest.
Away from the people with frowns on their faces.
All of my life is monotony
I'd go out for a walk but I know it would be
(Predictable)
Sure as the nose on my face
(Predictable)
Same for the whole human race
Once we (once we) had so many options
Once we (once we) had dignity and grace
Now we (now we) have got nothing but our own time to waste.
(Predictable)
Yeah, that's the word of the year
(Predictable)
All I see, all I hear
Why can't it be like never before?
(Predictable)
Yeah, ain't life a bore
(Predictable)
Life gets more and more...
Just like I've heard it all somewhere before.
(Predictable)
Sure as the nose on my face
(Predictable)
Same for the whole human race
One day (one day) it's gonna get better some way (some way)
I wish it would get worse any way (any way)
What can I lose, it might turn into something better.
It gets harder and harder the harder I try
(Predictable)
Feels like a good time to die
I kiss you hello then I kiss you good-bye
(Predictable)
Just like the stain on my tie
(Predictable)
Just like the jacket I wear
(Predictable)
The way that I'm combing my hair
Turn on the TV, just sit and stare
(Predictable)
There's nothing happening there
Yeah, that's the word of the year
(Predictable)
All I see, all I hear.

Love this video !!
*Dude from uk having mental breakdown for 3 minutes*
Love Ray Davies.
is that a Betamax.
Priceless at volume. It’s warranted.
Is this the theme song of every shitty Brendan O'neill column ever written?
at 2:38 Ray's watching a Stray Cats video, brilliant !
I feel these lyrics so much it aches...
@2:38, Brian Setzer on the television. @2:54 Paul Weller on the televsion.
Featuring Paul Weller....and not necessarily in a complimentary manner.
1:11 eating cig butts = priceless
My god, this song could have been written for 2018. The Kinks are visionaries and that is why they rule!
Yup they were really big influence to the alternative/indie rock of later generations. It's weird they don't get more play on classic rock radio stations. I could listen to apeman daily and not grow tired.
Long live the kinks!
I love their lyrics!

One of my first MTv memories
I always looked forward to MTV showing this video back in the days when the M stood for Music.
He looks and sounds a bit like Morrissey at the start
im surprised they were able to write this song as young men. its a older person song in my opinion.
He was 37 at the time
He's about 50 yrs old when this song came out.
David Miller He was 37
David Miller He was 37.
global warming lover Hell, they were writing convincingly about getting old in their early 20s.
I love its sound, soft and hard at the same time.
Try this song and if you want you can start at the 2min mark.
