I'm a fan :-) Here's my interpretation :

She's lost and wandering.

 "On the highway, but I'm barefoot" 

She saw pieces of him everywhere and everything reminded her of him. It's like she can't run away from the thought of him.

"You're on every street, marked on the ground"

She literally wanted love without "the build up". This means she wanted a loving relationship without all the mess all relationships has to go through. I.e moments when feelings were subdued, arguments, fights etc.

"I like the lights but not the tangled wires."

"Want the prize but not the race."

She wanted him so bad. 

"Need your hands to show me how to pray."
 
And one of my most favorite lines from this song :

The last verse is quite confusing to me :

Possibly she was hurt that when they were separated, it was like he left like a ghost. Like he never said goodbye. And now her heart is full of sorrow and pain and that there is no more room for him. So she's begging him to come back into her arms. And all she really wants was to love someone without the pain.

jo jack well I think the song is honestly about hooking up with ex. She doesn't want to get back with this person she just wants love/sex but not the buildup. Key lines in the song that make me think so are "sorry you won't fit inside my heart" and " I like you more when you don't make a sound" and " I want the rules not the regulations"

Kimbra is beautiful because of everything she is and it's reflected physically. The fact the she's beautiful doesn't mean others aren't. The fact that someone like her body shape, doesn't mean he hates the rest or that the rest aren't beautiful. I love her style as well :)

To that person who says there needs to be more real women, I don't understand what that means. Instead being ambiguous, please be more specific describing what a REAL woman is. Like what the person said, we are all in titled to our opinions. Though, all women are great the way they were born. I don't believe in words such as beautiful, pretty, gorgeous. Many misconceptions are birthed from those misleading words. Suggest using, words to describe personality instead. (i.e, he has a great PERSONALITY. My point of this rant is, less obsessing on the image of our bodies and thrive to be a better person, not perfect. We all make mistakes and call out other people and spreading this hate. The more hate one person sends, it will spread and come back to bite you in the arse.

Pretty sure their comments are a pretty good representation of their standard for beauty. Also there's so pretty standard things that indicate health. Beauty isn't just a construct it is an evolutionary evaluation of ability to create healthy offspring.

Ok, I take back what I said about her starving herself. I will then say that she looks like she starves herself and we don't need anymore Hollywood figures promoting this unhealthy body image that is fed to girls from every angle. If she was not beautiful, she would not be famous. She doesn't have chops like Adele that can overshadow looks in Hollywood.

AGREED!!! her style is much better that all those big pop stars! i haven't done much research into who she is a a person, but just from her appearance i would rather my child listen to her than those fake looking freaks that are called stars nowadays. she is very artistic and classic looking.

Seriously!? I'd love to see how badly you suck at singing. You can't say she isn't talented because unlike Katy Perry and Kesha, she can sing and sound awesome WITHOUT auto-tune. I'm pretty sure first of all she doesn't starve herself because her parents are doctors, so she's been brought up not to do that. Also since when does she wear revealing clothes? And I would advise you to look up a song called "It Takes Time", it's a song of hers from when she was 14, she wrote it herself and also plays the guitar in it. Whether her music is better or worse is subjective really, but what I can say is that she is definitely more authentic. She writes all of her songs and is heavily involved with the production, so I would say that she is definitely more of an artist than Kesha or Katy. Secondly, her songwriting capabilities are leagues above that of Kesha or Katy. Also, I don't recall seeing Kimbra in anything that I would deem "revealing", she's just embracing her femininity and there's nothing wrong with that

I think that's a mistake that so many people make. Just because she wears revealing clothes and wears makeup, doesn't mean anything. Or at least it shouldn't. It's a shame, really.
