Kenny Rogers - Anyone Who Isn't Me Tonight Lyrics

When you made love to me tonight
I felt as if I'd died and gone to heaven
And if that's how it feels to die
Then lay me in your arms I'm thru with livin'
I'll get down on my knees and thank the good lord up above
That I'm the lucky girl you chose to love.

[Chorus:]
And I feel sorry for anyone who isn't me tonight
So if you think I'm braggin', well you're right
Your love has sent me flyin and I'm higher than a kite
And I feel sorry for anyone who isn't me tonight.

You've got the kind of body
That was made to give a man alot of pleasure
And what you're giving me tonight
Is more than anything on earth can measure
Every inch of you that's woman makes me that much more a man
I've just about enjoyed all that I can stand.

[Chorus 2x]

Another 1 of my favourites, I have this song on my cell phone

While I love all of their duets, this one will always be my favorite, and just one more reason I'm glad I grew up in the 70's. It's no wonder I love so many genre's of music because it was in the mid 70's when "new" country started crossing over into the pop charts and the other way around. I think Glen Campbell broke that glass ceiling, and from there, my music collection became very diverse. To this day I love these old songs.

What a pair they were. Hard to believe that Dottie West would be 84. And Kenny is 80. My pals and I used to listen to them on the jukebox so many years ago. My friends and I were 23 or so, having fun after work. Time goes by.

drbombay91765 Yes they were!!! I love the video on here when Kenny plays with Dottie's husband and how he is her drummer and really hates this song. I laugh so hard at that one. I would have been 18 when this came out and I remember playing that record until it was gray and scratchy. Thank God for CD's that took care of that little problem, but I still have all of my vinyl!!! On a side note, just the other day, I found a video of Dolly Parton singing I will always love you and Kenny was sitting on a stool next to her. His hair was thin and his face so pale. I couldn't believe it was him until he looked towards the camera. He looks like he is on death's door and she is still stunning. I guess the only way we stay young and beautiful is if we die that way. I think I'll hang onto life as long as I can. Music like this reminds me of what a great time the 70's were.

I hope you had it played and danced like you were teenagers. Let it raise those eyebrows, if your marriage lasted 50 years, I don't think anyone has the right to raise eyebrows. I mean, this and other songs like this have been around for about the same amount of time, and if people think this is a bad song, they are the ones with the problem, not you. You rock it girl!! My 34th anniversary will be here in 10 days. I hope you have many more than 50 years together.
