I read some of the comments on how some of you arrived at Ruston Kelly's video of Black Magic. I'm here due to just listening to all of Kacey Musgraves work, starting on Friday. Then after finishing listening to her latest Golen Hour on repeat, and just absorbing everything about her that I could read or listen to, led to her husband, Ruston Kelly! Both are powerhouses when it comes to making music, in my opinion! When I finished listening to all of Kacey Musgraves 'pure art' I put on Ruston Kelly's, starting on Saturday afternoon! This dude is phenomenal! I understand he first came back to the music scene with a publishing deal to get him back in the game, then finally started to record his own stuff! If this is where he started, with the Halloween EP, and just did the album 'Dying Star', can't wait to find out what's next, and where he is going to end up! I can't stop listening. When I do, the songs just keep playing inside my head until I put them back on again. Either the computer, Alexa or iPhone, can't stop listening. Kacey Musgrave's win last night for Album of the Year at the Grammy's was more than deserved. When I listen to earlier stuff and listen to Golden Hour, can hear the progression of pure beauty and "directly from the soul" the same as with Ruston Kelly. I can't help but wonder if the two of them are going to record something together. Only makes sense to me since their writing styles are both prolific, can only imagine the masterpiece the two of them could complete and privilege all of us with releasing to all of our ears to listen to and put on repeat, once again! I don't know about the rest of you, but damn, if I don't hear Johnny Cash coming through his pipes on some of these tracks, gives me the chills!!! I don't believe he's doing on purpose, I do believe it's just his voice and the way he sounds. I have now found two male artists, in less than a week, that have been able to give me chills while listening to their recording's. I will admit it, this dude brought tears to my eyes with Poison. If you can't relate, you haven't had a really toxic relationship! Consider yourself lucky if in your late 20's early 30's, (hell any age) n you have been spared the drama of one. However, for the ones like myself that have had a toxic relationship, I can definitely relate to Black Magic and Poison, Hollywood, hell all his damn tracks! The back story for Ruston Kelly is just as amazing as his talent! Brother keep doing it 'one day at a time'! If you can do it, all of us can!!! Now knowing the background will have you in the prayers! If you're this prolific, with words and music, all of us are going to be on the edge of our seats waiting to see and hear more from you in the future. You definitely have a new fan here, even at the expense of annoying my family due to having you and Kacey Musgraves on repeat for three days, lol!
