I know it's against the grain, but I prefer Okereke without Bloc Party. His dance/r&b sound is so good. Trick should have been a huge hit, but radio can't get past Chris Brown-type music.

I agree.

I think maybe because he's started moving into producing his own tracks as well as writing, he's probably going to be pushing this sort of stuff (I guess trying to develop his own sound), whereas I believe the boxer was produced by one of the dudes from spank rock which is why it has a very different, almost 'pop' feel. I loved the boxer and I loved his raw, house-ier stuff on crosstown but you're right unfortunately this song is just ok… I'd like to see more unique tracks somewhere in between the two and not just his vocals over a burial, two-step style track
