Karla Bonoff - When You Walk In The Room Lyrics

I can see a new expression on my face
I can feel a strange sensation taking place
I can hear the guitars playing lovely tunes
Every time that you walk in the room

I close my eyes for a second and pretend it's me you want
Meanwhile I try to act so nonchalant
I see a summer night with a magic moon
Every time that you walk in the room

Maybe it's a dream come true
Standing right along side of you
Wish I could show you how much I care
But I only have the nerve to stare

I can feel there's something pounding in my brain
Just anytime that someone speaks your name
Trumpets sound and I hear thunder boom
Every time that you walk in the room
Every time that you walk in the room
Every time that you walk in the room

    カ-ラ ボノフ1980年頃聞きました サ-チャ-ズもいい ベンチャーズもインストで!名曲ですね。

  2. S.... ....

This was the best version of this song, that is until Pam Tillis did it in 1994. Simply the best and Pam's vocal at the end of the song is just magical.

    S.... ....

Jackie D's Vocal has this beat all hollow.... the music is a subjective thing, but I'll still take the original...

  3. T.... M....

    Fucking Brilliant cover!!!!!!

  4. T.... M....

    Best version by far!!!!!!!!

  5. S.... C....

...one of the national anthem of ROCK

  6. J.... B....

Liv Marit Wedvik did a beautiful job on this number, as well. Sadly, she died in a tragic accident in 2015. http://radiofy.se/artists/874433-liv-marit-wedvik/songs/15-when-you-walk-in-the-room

  7. a.... b....

    Lovely song

  8. s.... ....

It is great we have Youtube to listen to songs all day while you work.

  9. E.... C....

This is a pretty good version and like Linda Ronstadt remakes, uses the exact same inflections as the original. I prefer the Status Quo’s version of this tune. With all that said, I listen to Karla’s version as well.

  10. W.... D....

Nice tribute to Jackie the Shannon.

  11. W.... R....

GOD, WHAT TALENT. I JUST FOUND YOU..NOW A FAN FOR LIFE AND I AM IN LOVE, LOL!

  12. w.... s....

    WHAT A COVER FANTASTIC!

    w.... s....

I assume you are referring to the album cover... because she wrote this.

    w.... s....

@vidkidxyz Jackie De Shannon wrote this classic and released it in 1963.

    w.... s....

@city zen Really ? I thought it was Karla's... Then it is even more impressive that it was written that early by De Shannon.

    w.... s....

    listen to the Searchers version!

  13. J.... P....

Definitely the best version of this song! Sounds like Linda Ronstadt....

    J.... P....

nope, it's definitely not this one. Susanna Hoff's the best.

  14. L.... 1....

perfect version i like so much almost the shame like pam tillis version

  15. C.... ....

    最高ですね!何とも言えない甘く切ない声に、あったかいメロディーにリズム、唯一無二、カーラ不滅です!

  16. p.... ....

Like Linda Ronstadt - Singer/Songwriter Karla Bonoff made cooling Westcoast out of early classic 60's-Songs...
    (Pat, Switzerland)

  17. C.... P....

    Fulkin' great !

  18. 1.... a....

    中学生の頃、毎日聞きまくって全曲歌えるようになったのが懐かしい。30年近く経った今でも若い頃に覚えた歌は歌えるものですね〜 カーラ大好き。

  19. T.... C....

wish I had the nerve to tell him but everytime he smiles I forget everything...how to breathe, how to think, how to speak. I keep hoping he sees it in my eyes and in my smile...but I'm probably just a fool wishful thinking.

    T.... C....

If he's smiled at you, he's seen it. Just say hello and see what happens. You never know. Turn that wishful thinking into action and you'll never be thought a fool. It would be foolish not to take the chance.

    T.... C....

Just say Hi and ask a few questions. Then he'll know for sure. He's probably shy.

    T.... C....

+dgrichmondbc Hello my friend.  Why am I not surprised you wrote this thoughtful reply!

    T.... C....

    Did you ever say hello?

  20. M.... M....

I have been in love with Karla Bonoff for over 30 years ( but I only have the nerve to stare...).. I saw two of her concerts... She was wonderful...Sing, Karla, Sing...

    M.... M....

    Same here, bro!

    M.... M....

I've had a girl crush on her for 30 years too, but I haven't heard this song since some SOB stole my album 25 years ago. I thought of the man I was in love with 30 years ago that reminds me of this song so I googled it. When I heard it and "Someone to Lay Down beside Me" I was taken back in a time capsule to the time we were together. I'd forgotten how moving her songs were. Thank heavens for YouTube.

  21. T.... ....

This has always been my favorite version of this tune. If I'm not mistaken Karla Bonoff was an L.A. backup singer along with Carly Simon and Rita Coolidge.

  22. e.... c....

Susanna Hoffs sung this song at Eddie's Attic

  23. k.... ....

Excellent band on this! These guys" interpreted" the arrangements, applied appropriate engineering and recorded the number respectfully.

  24. d.... ....

beautiful music. it is both sad and perplexing that ----- *somehow* ----- this paved the way for the crap that passes for "music" nowadays. wtf????

  25. F.... D....

I've never heard of this gal, but I sure love her voice. Where have I've been, huh.

  26. d.... ....

wow , does Jackie Deshannon really sing background on this version of her song? If so, how cool!

  27. G.... V....

    Stunning

  28. T.... H....

Wow, she really does a very nice version. (and she does sound a little like a young linda Ronstadt). I attempted to record this song myself some time back. Stop by my channel sometime and check it out. I am just an amature but I enjoyed doing it.

  29. l.... ....

does any one else think she sounds like a young Linda Ronstadt?! you should hear Pat McGlynns Scotties sing this song !

  30. k.... ....

    I love Karla's voice, round and resonating..pure;..gorgeous.

  31. B.... B....

@olmose I think her version is the best!

  32. T.... O....

someone replaced "fun sensation" with "strange sensation" which makes the song more mysterious.

  33. n.... ....

I would Love to see Ringo,Paul McCartney and Jeff Lynne do this song.

  34. f.... ....

    awesomeness!

  35. j.... f....

The drummer on this is Russ Kunkel, a great session drummer. Was married to Nicolette Larson, although not in 1979....

  36. c.... ....

    Not heard this version before.

Glad I have !!! Ace version.

  37. r.... ....

I have never heard a version of this song I didn't like and Karla's version is no exception. Like 'Groovy Kind Of Love', it's been good in every version!

  38. N.... ....

I wonder who played drums on this album. Man, I love this album!

  39. b.... ....

I love Karla! And Bryndle! She's 56 today, 12-27-08 Sat!
I adore Linda Ronstadt too! Another great version of this is done by Ruby Starr - ck her fanssite on myspace! Also Vickie Sue Robinson, whose 4 LP's have never been released on CD!

  40. V.... ....

Good call, ShockDoc. Still have that 'comeback' LP of theirs (as well as this one by Karla), and love both...

  41. c.... ....

This should have been one of many hits for Karla Bonoff. This is my favorite recording of this song.

    c.... ....

    The best, I think.

  42. a.... ....

    thank for your comment^^

  43. o.... ....

I love this song!! She does an excellant version of it!

  44. a.... ....

Thank for your comment!! This song is not Karla's original but
Jackie De Shannon(who wrote this song) sings background!!

  45. a.... ....
