Kamelot - Wings Of Despair Lyrics
Sometimes my visions
Are distant and vague
Down at the base
Of the mountain
Once in a while I am
Tired and sick of it all
I don't believe
That my story is set
Nothing is destined
Or blatant
Bound to this body
A world full of hate
No one will heed if I fall
No one can see it
Guiding the steps of your soul
Holding the truth
In the cross that you bear
Die with a heart that is bold
Fly on the wings of despair
No one is holding you back
The call of the wild is internal
Conquer the silence you fear
Tomorrow will not fade to black
A new day is dawning
Remember
No one can save you today
The questions are more
Than the answers I know
That doesn't mean you are lonely
Searching for more
Consecutive goal's
Making it worth to go on
No one can see it
But you know that it's there
Guiding the steps of your soul
Holding the truth
In the cross that you bear
Die with a heart that is bold
Fly on the wings of despair
No one is holding you back
The call of the wild is internal
Conquer the silence you fear
Tomorrow will not fade to black
A new day is dawning
Remember
No one can save you today
You, and you alone
Is forging the path
Leave your sorrows with the past
Never believe
That the story is set
Nothing is destined
Or blatant
Bound to this body
A world full of hate
No one will heed if you fall

Wft esta canción plagió de Rata Blanca - La leyenda del hada y el mago
Dalek C Por qué no? La canción de Rata Blanca salió antes.
Plagio tremendo
If there is any one song that describes what it is to be trans, or a similar plight, I believe it is this one. A magnificent piece.
SnugRailgun, if reality were an entirely deterministic affair our species would have never invented agriculture or industry. What do I care for God's cause, Man's cause, the nation's cause or the good cause? You fundamentally misunderstand how the human mind processes "observable reality". While the cause is certainly first materialistic and objective, mind is not. The movement of mind begins with the subject filtering sense data through ideological lens. And as society and the reality it resides in grows increasingly complex so does subjective mind take on more of the complexity previously reserved for the entire herd. Objective reality comes first, mind emerges from it. Mind seeks to subordinate reality to its operations. From this process alone comes knowledge. If you want masters begin with yourself and your own selfish cause. It's certainly better than relying on pop-philosophy gurus and filchers, and their faux-rationalist shtick in deciding your life and your conduct in it.
SnugRailgun And there we have it. More of the trite pretense. Seriously, go read core literature like Kiekeergaard before telling other people what their business is. You talk about chemicals, castration and biological determinism as if that hasn't occurred to every person that's considered such matters since the beginning of time. Go find better masters or be your own.
SnugRailgun what does Star Wars have to do with gender identity? And I point to Kiekeergaard because he explains radical freedom better than Sartre by basing it directly in comparison and contrast to preceding philosophy, which makes subsequent study more easily relatable. You're welcome to resign yourself to a memescape mess within a chemical one. Per the song, that's hardly flying on the wings of despair, however. That's being eaten by it. People have choices. The best choice is the most authentic one. And authenticity comes from process. Whether that means following in the footsteps of the Galli or not is a personal choice. I assure you that their decision was based in more profound of reasoning than simply acquiescing to mental illness.
SnugRailgun Great, a reference to a subpar film. And if you'd actually studied those statistics and the source you would know the suicide rate is greater for the non-transitioned than the transitioned and more so correlates to a lack of social integration, particularly in countries such as the United States, which warehouses their mentally ill in rape factories it calls prisons, also making your second argument moot. This isn't an issue unique to trans people, just experienced acutely by them. You may find a conversation with other members of your New Atheist community more amenable. If you want to chat philosophy, your litmus test is knowing and understanding the book I referenced in regards to causes. Understanding that book is just the first part of chewing on real philosophy, not the stale leftovers of provocateurs that can't read footnotes.
SnugRailgun, it's not about "the penis". It's about mutual recognition of subjectivity in society and how it is frustrated in our society at present due to a few factors. After all, in the classical societies in which the various permutations of eunuchs you have been so kind to identify appear what historical records are available indicate they live happily enough; and the ones that desired feminine bodies had to drink mare urine to obtain this; there has never been an a lack of striving or innovation. The ancients were clever enough to prioritize function over a fleeting sense of essence. Now consider the aimless young men individuals such as Jordan Peterson gleefully market murky self-help tomes to; they also experience heightened rates of depression, dissatisfaction and suicide at present due to socioeconomic circumstances, and a maladaptive social structure. You have already deduced that the individual is nothing more than chemical processes. They are not experienced as "chemical" processes by the individual, however, as that form of science is a tertiary abstraction. Rather, they are experienced as metaphoric relations which become reconciled within an external reality through interaction. You appear to share a general problem of our modern times, which has been a mystification of science. This is in part due to a loss of nuance and "empiricist reduction of thought to operationalism and behaviorism" to quote a review of Marcuse, to the point that many now treat a greatly deflated form of rationalism as though it endows them with access to absolute knowing; there are no "ersatz universals", that's just a spook of the mind. As far as trans people, I believe that the evidence indicates epigenetic causation, which usually indicates a series of traits that come as close to "something the gene pool thinks might be useful given circumstances" as one might impose on nature. A society survives on the merit of how well it integrates and uses its members. At present, it woefully fails at this. We should not try to reproduce the past exactly, but if our society is demonstrably maladaptive it should look to past and present examples of how it may do better.
Why this album is just 4.49$ lol first Time i see an album this price
Someone please make a Berserk music video montage to this song
This song is a goddamned masterpiece. The lyrics, the composition, the thrashing. Fucking perfect
KAMELOT
Did it stop at 4:32 for anyone else?
Sadly, yes. :(
4:32 is the end of the [uploaded] song?
@Ops Guy It's the end of the soundtrack.
Why can't I find this song on Itunes?
+King Chitin Because u only find shit music on itunes.
I can find pretty much any other song by Kamelot on there.
I don't think I-tune has the rights of the album
ITunes recently put up all of kamelot's catalog.
Fly on the wings of this bear
no one is holding you, bear
recall all the wild dizzy tunnel
(Cold in you...)
cut good the silence you fear
tomorrow will now fade to bleh
A nude, eh? He's donning, remember
no one can save you today.
Haha! I love it!
Can't unhear...
Thanks to you I only hear this way now!!! and I imagine the bear hahahaha XD
Well, never taking THIS song seriously again... v_v
Where the fuck is this album on ITunes ?!?!??
@Gabriel Melendez try spotify
RAAAAAH
"I don't believe that my story is set
Nothing is destined or blatant"
then sings "karma" later XD
oh the irony...
yes well, karma can neither be proven nor disproved, but it does not set in stone what exactly will happen and how you react to it
TargonTheDragon Different songs, different characters.
You really don't get this do you?
Karma can be changed tho.
Karma might be the exact opposite of a fate set in stone
Fate is something that is set in stone and will happen no matter what you do. Karma is something that happens to you based on your actions.
The new singer will never sound like the original. Appreciate the fact they are doing their best to keep the music going to have concerts we can hear these songs live still. All bands cant keep their original band memebers forever
Also the sound is a bit different i love more the old sound , is like more progressive and pure
@MatiDota I know the band since ...like...5 years ago and I like more the style of the newest songs so xD .. I think everyone have an opinion
Except Roy Khan was not, in fact, the original singer. Mark Vanderbilt was the original singer.
Tommy is 1000000000 times more talented than Roy. But not in Kamelot thats for fucking sure...
@necroplastful good joke
kamelot is rock band but so emotional and have realist lyrics how awesome
yup for sure a sin it is, when tom is not "just" as good as Roy. No one will be as good as Roy he is unique and forever will be missed. Tom is his own entity with his own specific talents yet disturbingly close to Roy. But there are some high pitches i don't think Tom can play out like Roy did
you sure as shit never listened to one seventh wonder song to claim this.
Anyone think of Tira from Soul Caliber when you read the name?
I think of Pyrrha Omega, actually.
Srry to say..not just as good..Almost as good!
agreed. we all miss khan, but tommy is doing a great job too
Really good subtitle, well done to the one who made this video.
I just love the lyrics from this song
Seeing them tonight with Nightwish. and Floor Jansen from after forever taking over for annete for the rest of the tour.
I just saw Tommy live, it might be sinful to say, but he is just as good as Roy. I miss Roy, but it was his choice to leave, and i'm glad Kamelot found an amazing successor.
He is better than Roy, not in Kamelot though.
me too :(
I miss Khan :(
