Jones, Quincy - Body Heat Lyrics
Can you feel it
Touching you
Don't you feel it
My tempratures risin'
But when you're close to me girl
It's so tantalizin'
I can't help myself
I get so excited
Why do I act in this fashion?
Why can't I control my passion?
Some call it... soul fire
I call it love's desire
Come on up, I'm gonna take you higher
When we meet
Ain't it sweet
And when we greet
Feel that body heat
Feel that body...
Can't you feel it, can't you feel it, can't you feel it
Feel that body heat?
Feel that body heat
Body heat
Give me your hand
And I'll give you mine
Oh, fire and water
Mixed up in one sign
Touching you
Inside of you, baby
Oh, I like it
I like it a lot
Come on baby
Give it all you got
I'm gettin' warmer
But just wait til I get hot
'Cause I'm a genie nonfiction
Rub me til I feel the friction
Some call it... soul fire
I call it love's desire
Come on up, I'm gonna take you higher
I'm gonna give you warmth, guaranteed to inspire
When we meet
Feel the heat
Ain't sweet
Feel that body heat
Feel that body heat
Your Fahrenheit is outta sigh
It's alright, I dig body heat
I dig body
Your centigrade could stand some shade
But it's okay 'cause I dig body heat
I dig body heat
Can you feel it
Call you feel it
Can you feel it
Feel that body heat?

Body Heat From The Lp "Body Heat."
The original idea for this song came from the "The Love Suite", a collection of songs based around an idea hatched by Leon Ware and T-Boy Ross (Brother of Diana Ross).
When Berry Gordy heard some of the songs he was convinced that he should take them, and the concept to Marvin Gaye who had to follow-up the "Let's Get it On" album. Gaye approached Ware and Ross and convinced them that they should let him record the songs. This led to the opportunity for Leon to step in as both the writer, producer and arranger for most of the songs that would make Marvin Gaye's next album.
These recordings formed the 2 albums, "I Want You" and "Musical Massage", all recorded at Motown West Studios. Any songs that weren't picked up by Marvin, were developed by Ware for his album, with other writers. In the case of "Body Heat", Ware worked with Bruce Fisher.
Then Quincy Jones heard the song, wanting it to also appear on his next solo album. On the recording session co-writing credits went to Quincy Jones and Stan Richardson, with David Blumberg as the arranger.
So for every person saying Quincy is a genius, know that the genius on this song belongs mainly to Leon Ware. Unfortunately Berry Gordy only released "Musical Massage" on the Gordy subsidiary label, whereas the story of "I Want You" is much more well known. It was the last in a series of large hit albums for Gaye on the Motown label before he moved on to CBS after disputes with Motown.
I'm just repeating 0:11 - 0:14

Having a good memory is great especially when you can remember all the great things you were doing when this album blew everyone away nearly 50 years ago and is still capable of transporting today!!!

3:25 They Want Efx (remix)
Sad how people only get here through mobb deep and tupac
How can you say only when your comment alludes to the contrary? I would like to think there are others that arrived here on other merits as well. But also isn't music a vessel to all music? so why is it sad?
Not sad at all. I've gotten into tons of other artists simply because someone sampled their music. I purchased whole catalogues because of sampling.
I fail to understand how it is sad that a musical genius music like Quincy Jones being discovered through a later generations music is sad. If anything, that’s amazing.
0:11 tupac

Tupac was my man and you're talking about how everybody else sampled it this way or that way but the main thing is that it came from Quincy Jones the ORIGINATOR of it, "BODY HEAT" the album '74...

MOBB DEEP
I have no idea who "Tyler" is. Quincy Jones is a true musical genius, who put together some of the most talented musicians and performers of the 20th Century. This is one of my favorite songs of all time.
And the rest are consumers of a product that they didn't produce.
If you're here for Tyler, Tupac, Mopp, tell them that Quincy, thanks them for the checks.
