Great track from great times in my life. Glad I was part of it. A real keyboard player. Good synths back then using the famous DX7 and Roland Jupiter 8 on this track.

This song had grown on me so much.....in and of its self it's great.
Only think that the vocals could have done with some layering as I don't think he has the voice for this particular song. It's so deep and moody, the vocals seem too thin.

I can’t thank Howard Jones enough for the memories he has created , he probably won’t ever realise what his vocals , synth and songwriting has done for so many people and the impact it had on their lives , certainly as a child of the 80’s ...

Howard is still making absolutely top class material, read a little about Howard and he seems like a cracking , down to earth fella who remembers his roots ...that’s certainly what I took from it .


This is a haunting masterpiece and personally for me is all about childhood innocence and fun and also what could have been , wish I never tried to grow up too quickly.

I hope you don’t get embarrassed if you do read this Howard as o know it’s your channel, but you don’t ever toot your own horn so I think you deserve it tooted for you just even a wee bit , so appreciate of your music , a throughly talented guy...thanks so much.

OMG! I have the 12inch of this in the loft somewhere! I've typed Howard Jones in you tube after a few glasses of wine! This is great after 30 odd years! One of his better songs, check out speciality, a track that never got the recognition it deserves and will give you more goosebumps than this!

Still listening..2018..Love all Howard's music but "Hide & Seek" still holds the #1 slot for me followed by "Soon you"ll Go" that he wrote for his daughter Mica.  Not only is he uber talented (that's an understatement) but also a gem of a human being.  We all were blessed the day Howard was born!!

I bought Humans Lib when it came out in 1984. It's only now, 34 years later that I got it- Humans Liberation, the lyrics throughout his work are truly inspirational. A great musician, song-writer and human being!

Remember it still. Back in 1984, dancing with that sweet girl. We were boath 15 years old, she smelled so good and her boobs felt fantastic to my chest when we danced to Hide and Seek and right after this song to Careless Whisper. This memory came up somehow today 34 years later so thats why I looked up this song :)

We saw Howard in concert in the late 80's at Birmingham's NEC. He was on stage for 2hrs 15mins straight. Absolutely out of this world. EVERYONE danced in the aisles from start to finish. PURE BRILLIANCE !!!!!!!!!
