Jones, George - Where The Tall Grass Grows Lyrics

There's three bedrooms
Hardwood floors and the kitchen's new
It's got everything a family needs
With a backyard view

Ask anyone where it is
Everybody knows who used to live
Where the tall grass grows

A couple who lived there before
They kept it off
But since they left that big old yard
Looks a little rough

And God, I miss that little boy
Who always kept and mowed
Wish they'd still live
Where the tall grass grows

So come by and get the kid
Go make yourself at home
Take all the time you need
Wish I could come along

But I'd truly be under fire
And crawl across its floor
And to face those burning memories
Where the tall grass grows

Yes, I'd truly be under fire
Crawl across its floor
And to face those burning memories
Where the tall grass grows
Can't go back and face those memories
Where the tall grass grows

What can you say about Jones other than the man could SING!!!!! It doesn't matter how many times you hear these songs, goosebumps every damn time. The damn man could SING. Bravo Mr. Jones! I bet Jesus is in the front row of a Jones concert right now with tears in his eyes... and he is probably thinking the same thing... this man can sing!!!!!

Georges Finest Work ! , it was wrote for him , the little boy in the song mowing the grass etc ? , that was George . its why he would "sooner build a fire than to face those burning memories where the tall grass grows" , sometimes childhoods for whatever reason are where we go astray , George overcame it though , gives us all hope , & that was the essence of JONES to bear PAIN to help others somehow , maybe thats why God lets the devil hurt us sometimes ? . because later somehow that we will never understand ? .......we are the ONLY ones who can get through ? , so next time you feel the world would be bettor off if you were not here ? , like Old Geroge ? .......you never know .................................

My dad had a stroke, and we lost our home a few months ago. I was always passionate about the lawn, I’d always cut it, and now it breaks my heart to see the tall grass grow

I can't tell you how many songs of his make me actually breakdown, all I know is that all George could really tell a story. I miss him, but then again, I know I'm not the only one.
