Jones, George - She's Mine Lyrics

I won't say that I'm the only one, who loves her
And I won't say I make her happy all the time
There's someone she can't forget
I know she never will, and yet
But as far as my heart's concerned, she's mine

She never once has told me that, she needs me
And she forgets when I'm around her all the time
There are words I try to say
When she turns and walks away
But as far as my heart's concerned, she's mine

She's mine and yet I know someday, I'll lose her
But she'll never take this happiness I've found
And I know it may sound foolish when I tell you
That I'm satisfied just having her around

Even when she's in my arms, I know she's lonely
I wish that I could take that someone from her mind
But since her mother left our world
She's been daddy's little girl
She's a baby, I'm her daddy, and she's mine...

at 0:25 , see how he enunciates 'time' - you can hear the 'm' ever so softly, yet still distinct. THis guy is a singer's singer, everyone's singer, a master of his craft. this age that this video shows might be geo at his best w/ his tools his tools fully sharpened. I have to think of this some more.

  47. M.... G....

  53. S.... B....

All this time I thought my Daddy sang this song, who knew it was really my 2nd hero George!! Love it!!

  54. B.... R....

Man, that song kicks ass! The very first time i heard it was on a cassette tape my grandpa had and he gave it to me when he heard I didn't have one of his records or tapes which I do now and CDs of him too. If you love country music but do not like George Jones, than evidently you don't like country music at all. George Jones is a legend especially with is duets with Tammy Wynette.

    B.... R....

    Billy Rife

  55. G.... ....

  58. M.... ....

OMG!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I FOUND AN ACTUAL PERFORMANCE OF THIS SONG!! I HAVE CRIED TO THIS SONG MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT..BEEN LISTENING TO IT SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL. IT HAS EXTRA SPECIAL MEANING TO ME BECAUSE I LOST MY MOM WHEN I WAS 4 YEARS OLD, AND MY AND MY DADDY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SUPER CLOSE. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AND WILL ALWAYS BE DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL. ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREAT AND GREATLY UNACKNOWLEDGED COUNTRY SONGS OF ALL TIME!!!

  59. s.... ....

    @SunSetbutterfly508
Theres only one thing to say.He is George Jones and that tells it all

  60. K.... ....

@Buried3030 - Old George didn't have a vibrato, so he had to adjust his voice with the twisting and moaning and such. I read that because he didn't have that vibrato he never thought that he was a good singer. I wonder if 50 years of his peers telling him he's the best has changed his mind at all? Had he used a normal vibrato he'd be an OK singer, but the vocal style George Jones came up with made him the BEST singer..maybe EVER!

    K.... ....

KLUNKET. Wow that's interesting! I never knew that, but I'm happy he didnt have one, bc his voice is one of a kind. pure gold!!

  61. M.... N....

    LOVE IT!!

  62. s.... ....

@11985857 Yah just look at that big muscle on his neck! Its not fat it plain singing muscle.Heavy weight sining champion

  63. y.... ....

A great song by a great singer. As T Tommy told George on his syndicated radio program (in the 1970's), "You're bad on those ballads". He is a master interpreter of a country song.

  64. J.... J....

    My all time fave...

  65. M.... .....

One of George's best early songs-Can't sound contrier than this

  66. b.... ....

George could break an already broken heart.Nothing in country like this today.
