Jones, George - Golden Ring Lyrics
In a pawn shop in Chicago
On a sunny summer day
A couple gazes at the
Wedding rings there on display
She smiles and nods her head
It's not much but it's the best that I can do
Golden ring with one tiny little stone
Waiting there for someone to take it home
By itself it's just a cold metalic thing
Only love can make a golden wedding ring.
In a little wedding chapel
Later on that after noon
An old up right piano
Tears roll down her cheeks
And happy thoughts run through her head
As he whispers low with this ring I thee wed
Golden ring with one tiny little stone
Shining ring now at last it's found a home
By itself it's just a cold metalic thing
Only love can make a golden wedding ring
In a small two room apartment
As they fight their final round
He says tou won't admit it
But I know you're leavin' town
She says One thing's for certain
I don't love you anymore
And throws down the ring
As she walks out the door
Golden ring with one tiny little stone
Cast aside like the love that's dead and gone
By itself it's just a cold metalic thing
Only love can make a golden wedding ring
In a pawn shop in Chicago
On a sunny summer day
A couple gazes at the
Wedding rings there on display
Golden ring...

Jones, George Golden Ring Comments
What most don't know. This was real close to peace in the middle east. They had been separated for over 7 months. Watch and LISTEN again. This was a coup for the producers and for us fans. Outstanding.
You can love some one And still not be together but you don't give up you look up, that what my pastor tells us at church
Carrie that golden ring for Carrie and Bruce Marshall Mathers
Lord take me back.
Were they broke up at this point?
It is not GRETA the TUNAFISH with Donald Trump! .. only love can make a golden ring!
Why cant this be today..
This is heaven.
johnny and june get all the press and publicity but george and tammy were and always will be the best country super couple. let us not forget johnny cash was a married man with children when he got with june, george and tammy may have been toxic for each other but together musically their talent was and remains unmatched.
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard
I am not today’s country fan at all. But this stuff is the best. My folks listened to this stuff. I can barely watch them sing together without tearing up.
Just good
Greatest duet still in 2020
Saw George back in 1968 at a Fair Ground, he had been drinking but he sang , have loved George since I was young!
Damn right that first guy was thinking what r u doing talking to me still get george up here
O good ...beautiful tone/sound...but then these folks could play and sing and arrange music.
REAL LOVE lasts. Money & fame can't buy it. Go away & make a family. Then come back! We still midd &'love you!!
Im 57 YRS old.. There's no couples that care more about each other than they do anout the money..... Watch....
See I w was just a little kid when I STILL believed in the magic of love..George Jones & Tammy... I thought they would work it out. I didn't know bout al alcoholism.
Just heartbreaking. So Shame they ever got a divorce. I'm sure he loved her to the day died.
Books could be written about what's going on emotionally here. Suffice it to say, I think they were always the love of each other's life, they just couldn't make it work. One of the greatest duets ever.
There wont EVER be another moment or music like this again.
These two will never be replaced in my eyes .this new crap isn't country I own all the old stuff it's all I listen to for the most part I like a little of everything but would never replace it with junk Conway and Loretta are next in line.its a damn shame country isn't country unless you like the old music amen
Tame wyenette memorial
2019 the emotion the love still felt watching these “two” RIP youZ “two”
this is very sad.
Tammy is so majestic
Amazing
Scrunta
You see how they sing this song so tenderly. They coulda belted this song out but it's almost as if they were whispering parts of the song.
Larry Gatlin was such a hunk!!
The TRUE king and queen of country sorry Dolly
Tammy's struggling. Overawed.
starts off w her facin away from him. then...he sings....she comes around & as the song goes on you clearly see she is overcome by his humble delivery. what a singer!
No show Jones.
2019 and they live on so does their
Connection it just “IS” the epitome of
20th Century Love Country style “LOVE”
Very powerful song by two of the very best.

Such a touching song sang by the king and queen of country. They are timeless !
husband& wife at the time
this is my mom's favorite song with these two
Ima Super Persons said it so well one of the happiest and saddest things I have ever seen.
I'm soooooo glad we have these videos to watch of these 2.
PURE MAGIC
If there was a Mt. Rushmore of country, George Jones would be on it
AND TAMMY MERLE CONWAY JIM R.
Larry must have broken a few buttons on his shirt.
Rest in peace
They’re both gone now!
They are singin up there
Nowadays they could get a damned nice ring from Walmart! Cheap......
only Dolly and porter , or Johnny/June,
Through all the bad times and sadness they had whilst married , this video shows just how much love was still there .
So creative
I wanna wear that someday...
I love this country song...
They were truly the KING & QUEEN of country music.
tammy& george at their best
OMG. These 2 can sing! The best female and male Country singer ever. RIP Tammy and George.
Tammy WYNETTE was a beautiful women!!! George Jones Was A PRICK!!!
Ronnie.Millsap
She still loved the Possum , who can blame her...
WEREN'T THEY something?? I wish today's artists would pair up and beautifully sing like that! They just don't make it like that anymore! R.I.P. George and Tammy!
They never fell out of love with one another.
They don't built them like that anymore... Just great singers who could perform it even without the band. It's a country music classic, always will be.
semper fi
At a lit
at their best
One of the greatest IF NOT the greatest duets in country music history .
You could tell that they still loved each other , sometimes love just isn't enough .
Where have all the greatest country artists gone ? Because they sure aren't in Nashville.
As George asked , Who's gonna fill their shoes ?
Tammy Wynette & George Jones are real country singers. They're unique, they sound good 2 gather & solo. Of course Chris Stapleton has got them both beat. Noooot lol never n a million years. I like Tammy's voice & Tanya Tuckers, voice.
Pros ...
New talent has no soul..all these kids sound the same! Not worth a f___k
I love these singers and their music/songs
They still loved each other!!
Go ahead George Jones with my husband he's a wonderful singer never got to see Tammy Wynette I think she was passed already
It's sad to see them both wiping away tears at the end of the song.
I loved George and Tammy and this song except the last verse. The couple struggled and loved each other very much. Then the final verse changes the tone of the whole song. Very sad ending ... The writers should have kept the same sweet tone throughout the whole song, IMO.
Great song!!!
Were they divorced already....but they always had that special love between them..... Love them....
I loved George but like Loretta better than Tammy
Beautiful harmony.
Beautiful song awesome performers Love there country music
2 Legends unequaled still today....
Original country music from my childhood. Thanks for the memories. You can tell that they had a great love between them. 💕
Love this song I grew up with country singers and I met gorge Jones in person and I got a dollar bill with his signature on it sad he is dead😪😪😪😪😫😫😫

Love it!!
belle chanson
That is as real and moving as anything. Wow.
The Best~!
Are you viewers aware that you are listening to the greatest of the greats in country music. It hasn't gotten better than this since the history of country music. The Magic this pair have in common is they both sing from their heart and soul. Their daughter was given the name Georgette Jones. The georg in her name was chosen I beleive from her father's name, George ane the "Ette" taken from Wynette in her mom's name.
Game of thrones
I uses to play this song on my stereo player on my 45 record all the time. In the early 80's over and over for ever, it seemed.
Duet the legend spectakuler,,,hebat
Sounds like a song you would listen on k-rose :D
This kind of music is all l will listen to today's so called country is nothing.
No one can touch George and Tammy.
