Johnny Paycheck - Barstool Mountain Lyrics

I've finally found a place where I can take it
All this loneliness you left behind
On a mountain that's no hill for a climber
Just one step up, sit back and pour the wine

I climb up on barstool mountain
High above your world where there's no pain
And I'm the king of barstool mountain
Pretending I don't love you once again

At closing time I step down off the mountain
I'm strong enough to make it without you
I know that I'll be right back here tomorrow

Too weak to sober up and face the truth

I climb up on barstool mountain
High above your world where there's no pain
And I'm the king of barstool mountain
Pretending I don't love you once again

I climb up on barstool mountain
High above your world where there's no pain
And I'm the king of barstool mountain
Pretending I don't love you
Drinkin' away "I love you"
Pretending I don't love you once again

Would you happen to know the name of this song I'm looking for? The narrator in the song sounds a lot like Johnny Paycheck. Its about this boy talking to his dad, standing over his grave. Saying, "remember that fish, that use to swim right by our hook, well I caught him the other day, right below the willow nook. I hugged him real tight and I threw him back. Momma don't cry so much anymore, and sometimes she puts her arms around me and says God, God bless my little man.

    L.... B....

No. I don't believe I ever heard that one. Sounds interesting though.

    L.... B....

    Ok, thanks for replying.

Ive been listening to country music since Hank Sr. was alive, so you are going to tell me whats " hipster " and what is real ? Did you ever hear Paycheck when he was a flatout George Jones clone before he found his own voice ? Didn't think so. There was a reason Haggard thought Simpson was the real deal pal.

man this song brings back thoughts of days when you could throw away good jobs and be back to work a few drunk days later . long gone are those days gone like good American made cars . its gone global now and the American dream of staying with  it and hard work would pay off . there gone your bank don't loan and don't pay interest for nothing and your ford or chevy don't last as long as your granddads. and he's gone too so your left with these old songs to drink to and hope is all you got Shure seems slim to me. I would like to tell the pres. to take this hope and shove it.

    D.... C....

bill are you saying my grammar is bad or Mr. paychecks . I really REALLY don't understand your comment . but thanks and regards to you.
