Johnny Horton - All Grown Up Lyrics
(Hey daddy, hey daddy I'm all grown up)
Standing at your door just like I done before
You've changed so strange, you're all grown up
You wear those heels and hose dressed up in your mama's clothes
When I'm walking talking to ya all the time
Makes me glad all over honey, so glad you're mine
When you feel my touch by loving you too much
You're right, so nice, you're all grown up
(Hey daddy, hey daddy I'm all grown up)
You threw away those candy bars started gazing at the stars
Brand new that's you, you're all grown up
More thrills, more chills, you're all grown up
When I'm walking talking to ya all the time
Makes me glad all over honey, so glad you're mine
When you feel my touch by loving you too much
You're right, so nice, you're all grown up
(Hey daddy, hey daddy I'm all grown up)

Johnny Horton All Grown Up Comments
"when your lips so fine come closen in on mine" how is that now wrong 😭😭😂😂
Back in the '50s, "daddy" was just slang for one's "cool" boyfriend, ie. "big daddy" or "cool daddy".
The lesson here, of course, is be careful to note how your slang is going to sound to future generations.
I have a question. I recently found an EP 45 with six songs on it. One of the songs is "All Grown Up" but by a good unknown singer. It has good rockabilly guitar. It has a yellow label but I forget the record company. It is much better than other knockoff EPs. Does anyone know anything about this recording? Thanks.
Sorry, but I don't know another version of "All grown up".
Creepy in any era or any year. Year's ago I discovered this song and played it for my friends and they too saw the creepiness.
What if this is the scenario. 12 year old girl and 20 year old boy, boy doesn't see girl 10 years and next time he meets her she is 22 years old. It fits with the song.
This shit just does not sound right
It's so creepy, yet it's so catchy, it's hard to hate it
TOO COOL!! ROCKIN!!
i mean, its a good song??? but yes. this is so creepy espeically when i looked up the lyrics... oh man
o____o
how so? it never mentions her age and all grown up means she is grown now.
also back in the day girls as young as 14 got married. modern society is filled with pervs which means some may take these lyrics as a child molester but i just see it as a great song.
"When you feel my touch, I'm loving you too much"..and "when your lips so fine start closing in on mine, more thrills, more chills...you're all grown up.." creepy any way you look at it
@paul k Pedophilia is a disease, you need to talk to a therapist immediately before you hurt any children. If not, then consider yourself social ballast that will be cut loose from our conscious ecology.
Got to be 1 of Johnny Horton s best tune.
It probably wasn't creepy back then bc people weren't so messed up and sadistic!
You got it. There weren't nearly the number of creeps and pervs around back then.
@Brown Paw Yes there were, you naive fucktarded shit-nibbler. No one knew about them because social media wasn't around back then, newspapers didn't seek out these kind of stories, and police would cover up the allegations and reports to keep crime statistics low. If you think that creeps and pervs were a minority in any era, you are social ballast that needs to be cut loose from our conscious ecology.
This was my song when I was little......love it!
mine too but to my grandpa
always liked this song, but agree with a couple of comments it is kinda creepy - if you listen to the words closely. But sure it was intended to be just an innocent sweet song. Maybe just different attitudes in today's world (?)
I grew up on this stuff. My dad had great taste!! May he rest in peace<3 i'll continue to listen to my oldies<3
this is was my grandpa taste.
I'm sorry you were molested. What your father did to you is NOT normal. Please go talk to a therapist.
Wow great to hear this one again .
this ong is kinda creepy, but good nonetheless.... johnny horton died way to young in life, he never got really famous cause he died in a car crash before he got the chance so sad, but his music will live on forever
Sounds like the baby from dinosaurs sings the chorus
