Kyle Knupp I really don't think that's what the song is about. It's clearly about how he misses A friend that's died. Plain & simple. A love song of sort.

what i love about john is how few people understand how much he went throught and some people disregard his music as 'shitty wailing' or 'annoying' its amazing being one of the people who loves and respects him thanks for the beautiful music

First of all, cool screen-name. Secondly, no, he doesn't. John said that in '94, but later became a huge fan. There are videos to prove that, and Anthony Keidis wrote about it in Scar Tissue. Once, Frusciante even covered "Moist Vagina", and it was caught on tape. Should be around here somewhere, my guess would be about '97 or so.
