Joe Jackson - Throw It Away Lyrics
Wake up this mornin' and the paper's on the mat
Poor getting poorer and the rich are getting fat again
Up in the towers all the bosses sitting sneezing
A half asleep and the rest all start to squeezing
Don't worry 'bout it baby, don't try to understand
Throw it away, throw it away
Throw it away, throw it away
Wake up this morning there's a letter on the mat
Big brother wanna know where little brother's at again
Life is a peace of paper, goes on forever
Sign on the dotted line or end up in the river drowned
Don't worry 'bout it baby
Don't try to understand
You got the answer in your hand

Joe Jackson Throw It Away Comments
One person disliked this song! My guess it was Simon Cowell because he wouldn't recognise talent if it actually existed today. OK it does but cunts like Cowell won't give it a chance. Musical - cultural revolution required! Come on young people start thinking for yourselves!...... Just an old persons rant. Sorry.
More Rockpile influenced than anything... Power Pop more than Punk too. Remember, that Bluebird song was played every ten seconds a few years later.
A great song for less weight

Another example on how great music continued in the late 70's in 1979 I didn't know what to expect but the first time I listened to new wave music I said this is great stuff Joe Jackson wrote his own songs and was one of the great new wave pop rock singers of the late 70's and early 80's his songs were great Look Sharp, Sunday Papers, Pretty Girls, Is She Really Going Out With Him and a great follow up album I'm The Man (1979) A great song writer.
