Jody Watley - Learn To Say No Lyrics
Too strong, whoa...
You're too strong for me baby
I've got to learn to say no
Something's wrong with me baby
I try to give you up but it's hard
Playing games left a hole in my heart
You've got me doing things I can't understand
Won't someone save me take this gun from my head
You're too strong for me baby
I've got to learn to say no (ugh)
Something's wrong with me baby
I've got to learn to say no
Same situation again and again
I'll say I'm leaving I just don't know when
You know that I could turn my back on the pain
It's just that something called pleasure keeps on calling my name
You're too strong for me baby
I've got to learn to say no (yeah)
Something's wrong with me baby
I've got to learn to say no
Ain't nobody gonna win this one baby
Breakdown...
Love me do
Tell me true
Alibies
Little white lies
Gimme that
Gimme that
Gimme that
Gimme
Ain't nobody gonna win this one baby
Something called pleasure keeps on calling my name
You're too strong for me baby
I've got to learn to say no yeah ooh
Something's wrong with me baby
I've got to learn to say no
I'm just a slave to your heart
You're too strong for me baby (too strong)
I've got to learn to say no (I gotta learn to say no)
Something's wrong with me baby (something's wrong)
I've got to learn to say no
I've got to
I've got to, got to, got to
I've got to, got to, got to, got to, got to, got to go

Love this.
I love Jody. I love George. I'm glad I listened to this song. I'll never listen to it again.
Sound both great.
George's vocals always perfect
Was this before the lawsuit. He signed with them years later under his terms he said.
Are you aware that George wrote this song?
:-O I had no idea this even existed!!! WOW!!! SO hard to hear his gorgeous voice and know that we will never see him perform or release anything new (Unless posthumously!) :-( Thank you for uploading x
2018 and still grooving!
I miss George
Wow, I didn't know Jody and George did a duet. As always I love Jody's vocals and I miss her songs, especially with Shalamar. I have to agree with his record label. First of this is not Jody's or George's style of music, so who gave them the go ahead to even write it is a mystery. And I'm not sure what both of them were thinking of when they sang this song. It's unlike any other duet George did with other RnB artists. Shame it wasn't a better song that suited both their styles.
um this is a great song Sony did not release it and we know how stupid Sony was in the end George could sing anything ever hear his cover of Lady Marmalade omg better than the original which i still love LOL
George wrote what he wanted nobody tells an artist what he can and can't write LOL
April Dannette Both your comments are spot on darling! ❤
Tony Antoniou How very wrong you are I have to say. This is a super song with both artist singing great. George Michael did not have a style. He wrote songs and created music in many different styles, you would know that if you knew his music. His voice was so versatile with such a tremendous vocal range that he could sing anything. The covers he did actually do sound better than the original. He truly was able to cover any song but no other artist could cover his music, they just never did him justice, which suggest that he was 100% unique, the best of his generation. Without doubt there will never be another. 🙏
Totally disagree like all the others. Great sound, and they sound good together.
so cool
Where can I find the Video of this song?
DOESN'T EXIST IT WAS NOT RELEASED AS A SINGLE
Just discovered this.
Excellent!
Another of George's hidden gems.

CrazyScamp bruh
these two sounded so good together.
i love this song jody whatley and george michael both so Talented
What's always made i(n) m(y) o(pinion), Jody a fascinating artist was her consistently in thinking outside the box. I'm sure it's always been a fight, perhaps still, in not being forever "labeled" or as simply "boxed." Her debut solo personifies such and still leaves an everlasting impression on one's musical ear!
Redd Blitz
Especially her vocals on Still a Thrill! Went thru two cassettes🙂
I remember waiting on this video to come out.
i see the clip in USA , it's in a recording studio in LA
I didn't even know this existed I hate myself for sleeping on this smh
love this song.
His label was sony. dumbasses - tried and true
sad that he was stuck with them for as long as he was they tried to hold him down creatively what he put out was great but he should have been allowed to do more he always ran his own career and they tried to hold him down
Why on earth did George's label not want this released as a single?
Fantastic duet :)
i <3 this song an his voice
I LOVEEEEEE THIS SONG!!!!!!
The RZA from Wu Tang Clan when he was Prince Rakeem covered this on "Oohh We Love You Rakeem" :D
Two of my favorite vocalists -- it would have been killer! Thank you for posting it!
Hi, I have this single on Jody Watley's self titled album on vinyl record.
love this cut!
Thanks for uploading! This should have been a single - we would have made a fab video. His label said no! Produced by Bernard Edwards (CHIC, Power Station).
Love this song .only discovered it 2017 but NOW I play it every day what a duo .and wow you got the dance moves.
Pity! What a treat to have been able to work with George! I also only discovered this after his passing.
@Tony G,
The label said no because she's Black. And he's white. Although he had a huge success with his duet with Aretha Franklin but she was the Queen of Soul and was older. Jody was closer to his age and was starting her solo career and if I'm not mistaken he was starting his too. They both came from very successful groups but I do think even in the 1980s race was still and issue in people of high power's minds-you know?
Great song...heard it on the radio in the eighties but i still remember every word. Thank you Jody
Just heard it today! First time ever how did you and george team up?
