the break into King City sounds so much like Drifter's Wife but then changes during the vocals... strange...

He'd do something very similar before playing 'miss ol' st louis' too. i love it.. and I'd do anything to be able to play it! for now I just listen :)

CLAPTON did an appreciation of John Burton "jj" CALE'S 'S work about 5 or so years ago it waz shortly after "jj's" passing. just THOUGHT you MIGHT like to KNOW and ACTUALLY some great ARTISTS pay tribute to the TROUBADOUR PAR EXCELLENCE. sldc

Well..if he started writing songs around 20 yrs of age ..that Means 54 yrs  @ at least 1 song a day ..(.every time he opened his mouth a song came out )  so that Means about 19,710 songs  give or take  !!

That lil tune came out of a radio interview with some dude few yrs back so I think JJ improvised. He also worked as a sound engineer and played in bands for long time and wrote for others too. I write songs and sometimes they take a long time to finish. They reckon all up JJ did under a 1000 tunes - and everyone a gem ..
