I've psyched out to this track ever since it came out. I first bought an EP of Jimi just after he passed on and totally blew my brain cells to bits during the 70s and here I am in 2019 Sunday morning with this full blast and tingles down my spine. I saw him play a couple of times back in the 60s. Mr. Incredible. I played guitar and after I saw him I realized I knew nothing about my guitar. What a performer! He would blow your mind and hand it to you on a platter and smile. The guitar cord came out of his belly button and his hands were molded onto the neck. Nobody else every came close to his wavelength.

Little Elk Creek Canyon.., 1969 a major turning point in my life. This song did something to me... 'try to learn instead of burn.. hear what I say...' I have met Jimi 2 times; once in a vision on at the mid point of a bridge above a deep canyon and 1 time in a dream - we were on a big ship in the ocean, he was being chased by a 'dark' man that he was afraid of. I am now about to be 67 and this song has never left me - simply one of his best, along with Voodoo Child and All along the watchtower.

Even though "All Along The Watchtower" was originally Bob Dylan's song, and his version is great in its own right, Jimi took it and made a whole different song out of it and made it his own. There are very few covers that I prefer over the original version of a given song (Johnny Cash's reinterpretation of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt", and Devo's punk-ish deconstruction of The Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" being a couple from that very short list), and I can't decide between Dylan's and Hendrix' versions 'cuz they're 5-star recordings in their own respective ways.

I'm 54 jimi Hendrix has been a positive influence for me my entire life, I remember when we lost him, I cried, I'm still mourning the loss of our worlds greatest musical genius.
