Jim Reeves - Make The World Go Away Lyrics

Do you remember when you loved me
Before the world took me astray
If you do then forgive me
And make the world go away

(Make the world go away)
And get it off my shoulder
(Say the things you used to say)
And make the world go away
(Make the world go away)

I'm sorry if I've hurt you
I'll make it up day by day
Just say you love me like you used to
And make the world go away

(Make the world go away)
Get it off my shoulder
(Say the things you used to say)
And make the world go away...

I can remember the day Jim Reeves died. I was only a boy and we were going on holiday to a place called Port Seton in Scotland when we heard on the radio that he had been killed in a plane crash. That was so long ago. It´s nice to know there are still Jim Reeves fans out there and he has not been forgotten.

    g.... b....

    Great song - great memories

  31. a.... ....

I don't often criticize Elvis, but this is one song I always thought he got very wrong. It's a small, pained and intimate entreaty - pack it on with all the orchestration and Elvis's big booming voice and it just never worked for me.

I like this recording a lot.

  32. J.... D....

    One of my favourites

  33. a.... l....

He had a voice like "velvet" is how it has been described.

I love Elvis's version, I love Eddy Arnolds version as well as Ray Prices version but Jim Reeves could have sung it with a sore throat and it would have been more beautiful than anyone on planet earth

  44. S.... ....

Take Jim's great smooth baritone voice, add in a great orchestra, talented background singers and you get this top-notch recording. Easy listening at it's best. Thanks for posting - enjoyed the pics

  46. A.... T....

Iam at my desk and this song reminds me when i was a very young man working a night shift at a truck stop. I worked 6 PM to 6AM. I would go to lunch and Jim Reeves was singing this song and it sounded so good at that time and it still does.

  50. i.... ....

What do you think, Mic? Probably one of my Jim Reeves favorites of all time.

  51. J.... J....

this was the first song cut during jim's very last sessions on july 2, 1964. it was said to have been hastily selected, arranged, and recorded at the beginning of the session to placate songwriter hank cochran, who despondently came by the studio after his divorce was finalized and asked to have one of his songs recorded. for a long-time serious reeves connoisseur, possibly my favorite performance ever.

  52. g.... ....

One thing for sure, there will never be another voice like Jim Reeves ... a real "one of a kind"

    g.... ....

Jim Reeves One of my all time favorite male country singers. There'll never be another Jim Reeves or Patsy Cline, but there music lives on. I wish todays country music could be more like it was back in the days when Patsy Cline, & Jim Reeves were alive.  Most of the new country singers today especially the male country singers that like to sing through their noses like Tracy Lawrence, & Luke Bryan to name a couple are not worth listening to.  I can't stand todays Country music it's not even country music.

    A.... W....

+Anthony Ward Their are some great singers out there if they sing the old songs new songs are not the same today that,s what i think ..?

    A.... W....

Yeah I agree there are some good ones out there today, but some of them like Tracy Lawrence & Luke Bryan suck to me.  I love Mandy Barnett. She can take a classic pop or country song & sing it just like Patsy Cline would have recorded it.
