Jim Reeves - I Missed Me Lyrics

Last night was the worst night of my life no doubt
'Cause while I stayed at home someone else took you out
I cried 'cause I love you with all of my might
And I missed me, how I missed me at your house last night.

I missed holding hands walking out on your lawn
I missed the sweet kiss that was mine for so long
Were you happy with new arms
Wrapped around you so tight
I missed me, how I missed me at your house last night.

Did the neighbours say they noticed anything strange
Like a different car parked in your drive for a change
Did they watch as he kissed you beneath the porch light
Did they miss me like I missed me at your house last night.

I missed holding hands walking out on your lawn
I missed the sweet kiss that was mine for so long
Were you happy with new arms
Wrapped around you so tight
I missed me, how I missed me at your house last night...

  30. M.... C....

Yes Diane jamon ,you have it so right ,this is the music I was brought up on and I could never get tired of it , in fact I just can't get enough of it , its a pity that recording companies don't see it our way ,I just don't listen to the crapp they dish up to us today, I'm so lucky to have a massive collection of true country music which I listen to every day ,unfortunately we have lost most of these great singers but their legacy lives on through the wonderful music they have left us

  31. t.... ....

A man that has been gone for such a long time as He and Hank Wiliams and Patsy Kline yet still folks listen and ask for them to be played that is QUALITY at Its best

  48. J.... T....

    what a voice

  49. M.... M....

    With this song's
almost hymn like quality, it is
    a sui generis
example of a song that should on the
juke box of every, as David
    Houston sang
    of, "Loser's Cathedral."

    M.... M....

Correct "should on" in my comment to read
    "should be on."

    M.... M....

@Milton Moore Cannot believe how this comment of mine got so fouled up. Should read... "should be on the jukebox of every truck stop, tavern and barbecue shack
in the country, along with David
    Houston's "Loser's Cathedral."
    Milton Moore

  50. M.... M....

    Nothing like
    "nosy neighbors" looking out for
    "different" cars
    parked in driveways!

    (Shades of Alan
    Jackson's "Who's Cheatin'
    Who" with that
lyric "who's pick-up's parked next door!"). I love the
marimba in this song and how they amped up the ending with the
marimba and pedal steel guitar coming in STRONG!!!
    The entire song
    gives me chills.
    Jim was really
    singing from the mountaintop
    in this one!

  51. M.... M....

    His songs are
    like bird calls;
    one never tires
of them and can keep listening repeatedly in succession to them without
    growing weary.

  52. I.... B....

The beautiful voice of Jim Reeves will live on

    I.... B....

I also loved him at about age 11 & still do, always will !
    Soft Voice!💙

  53. M.... B....

I am 29 years old, and I still love all his songs. The lyrics have so much meaning to it and so pleasant it is to hear, it soothes my soul. And I owe it all to my daddy greatest...

  54. F.... A....

  62. D.... B....

True Diane. I am 55 but brought up listening to these songs. They sure make love nowadays seem fake and delusional.

  63. D.... J....

I guess most of us old folks still love Jim Reeves. I will be 72 come October 13th, Good Lord willing. Wonder if any younger folks might enjoy his music too. This was the time when singers could really sing with or without a lot of instruments .

    D.... J....

@Lisnageeragh Wow... yeah I wish I could do that. I've only met one or two others my age that are into this type of music. I'm hoping to find a woman that is that I can romance her with this type of stuff. It's all I can sing as well. Hahaha

Like you I too was devastated when I heard the news of the plane crash and his death. I was in hospital when I heard the news on the radio and I felt my world fall apart!! Needless to say I lived.... but he was such a part of my life and still is. I remember when I bought my first record it was a Jim Reeves LP and I still have it. We're both getting on now but that love has stayed with both of us. Take care.

  65. P.... K....

I've loved him since I was 12 and at 63 I still love him.

    P.... K....

+Patsy Kane I don't know when I started loving his music, but in the 3rd grade we had a party where they covered the tables with newspapers. As a voracious reader, I saw an article that told about the airplane crash and I was devastated. I am 59 now

    P.... K....

almost EXACTLY the same ages of myself....love him so much. My daddy used to put his albums on the stereo, pick his guitar and sing along. His voice was deep like Jim's and I can still hear both of them singing.

    P.... K....

I love him since I was in my teens my stepfather had most of Jim records

    P.... K....

    I still loves his music

Thank you so much for posting this song ♥ I am a third generation Jim Reeves fan, and never take the time to set up the turntable and play my Dad's collection of Jim Reeves' vinyl LPs; and I miss hearing them. This is so much easier, and I'm grateful.

  71. C.... W....

Thank you so much for uploading this lovely song...........

  72. R.... D....

    Can't get enough!

  73. d.... l....

Such an incredible voice, and such a beautiful song. No comparison with the garbage they call country music today.

  74. j.... ....

Thank you for posting this beautiful song by Jim!! Love it!!

  75. r.... ....

I love this song. They will never be another Jim Reeves. He has an awesome voice.

  76. o.... ....

Jim Reeves, the greatest entertainer of all time. A man with a golden voice who in my opinion had a voice even greater then Elvis. With so many impersonators of artist there doesn't seem to be one willing to impersonate Jim Reeves. What a sad day it was when he died. This was truly the day the music died.

    o.... ....

    Evidently God
    reserved THAT
set of vocal chords for just
    one person!

  77. o.... ....

Where did all our heroes go?? Come back, Jim Reeves !!!

  78. m.... ....

    So wonderful . 5 * * * * *♥
