Jethro Tull - Old Ghosts Lyrics
Hair stands high on the cat's back like
a ridge of threatening hills.
Sheepdogs howl, make tracks and growl ---
their tails hanging low.
And young children falter in their games
between tall pillars, where Sunday-night killers
in grey raincoats peek.
Misty colours unfold a backcloth cold ---
fine tapestry of silk
I draw around me like a cloak
and soundless glide a-drifting
on eddies whirled in beech leaves furled ---
brown and gold they fly
in the warm mesh of sunlight
I'll be coming again like an old dog in pain
Blown through the eye of the hurricane
Down to the stones where old ghosts play.

Jethro Tull Old Ghosts Comments
I don't think I've ever seen a JT video with Dave Pegg playing with Barrie Barlow, David Palmer and John Evan. It's got to be one of the last performances of Tull with Barlow, Palmer and Evan in the lineup before Ian made some personnel changes.
What a line up if Dave Pegg, just replaced John Glascock.
I love all your sones best fult plarey.

MUSICA DA UN ALTRO UNIVERSO SPETTACOLARE...JETHRO TULL MUSICA SPETTACOLARE!
Fantastic!
Another Tull vid that does not live up to the music. Lip sync...
Also David (pre-Dee) Palmer on air piano
Dave Pegg on bass?
He was the new bass player after John Glascock's death a few months earlier.
From their 'Folk-Rock' period. The best Tull IMO.
I have a TULL addiction.
Jethro Tull , un grupo con una musica y un vocalista sencillamente excepcional . El colega Ian Anderson !!
take note you boy bands..... the men.. in this band did 3 years in the u.s.a.....playing every week....and playing there own music.....and with no tv play time.....they made it on there own.....
Supper.shank.
The best!😀
Jethro , Genesis , Yes , ELP , King Crimson , Pink Floyd
Eloy / Marillion 🎵🎶🎼🎸😎👊
and Rush!
Fantastic!!!!!
Mitici!!!!
Well...now he has...
Wow, amazing performance and. Video quality, do you have more of this stufd?
This is a wonderful live performance from the Stormwatch album. Ian and the band are fantastic musicians. It's good to see the channel upload these classics! 😀😀😀
The audio is not live though but the studio version.
@Gerhard Van der Westhuizen True! Still, we get to see the band live, with all of Ian's wonderful antics onstage...It is better than nothing...[LOL]
I agree, it's great footage.
This makes me even more excited for the 40th anniversary edition! This has always been one of my favorite Tull albums. It's a fall/winter tradition.
Same here bro, especially with all the outtakes that are gonna be included, there's like 7 or 8 tracks that we've never heard before (and if past releases are any indication the outtakes are some of the best Tull tracks). In my opinion this was the last great Tull album...while they were still playing as an actual band, before Tull became Ian/Martin and whatever session musicians they happened to be working with that week. Now I just wish Steven Wilson could do the same for the Floyd and Genesis catalogues.
I been following him since the 70s have all his music , I thought, this one eluded me. Got it now.
Who is "him"?
Rush e o Jethro Tull, são as bandas q mais amo.
Duas ótimas opções! Two great choices! 😀😀😀
Que bom ver um br por aqui!!! Para mim são Matanza e Jethro Jull, mas as suas são belas escolhas.
Eu também! Vc tem um excelente gosto...rs

Barrimore Barlow best drummer of all
Hmm, yes, pity it's not live and they are miming to the record.
Unfortunately you were required to mime for TV back in the day—possibly still do.
On some of the live shows Ian will even make fun of the 'Master Track' playing backstage...[LOL]
Its odd yes but i dont think it hurts thier integrity being that they were exceptional live even into old age. Im sure it was more for technical issues on a tv show as opposed to musical inability.
@ZenClover 84 Well, you being 84 you should know better than me.
@Rattle Shakti i was born in 84 but i still saw them live about 8 or 9 years ago. Very tight. Not the energetic powerhouse they were in the 70s and 80s but better pound for pound musically and there wasnt a wrong note in the entire set.
Wonderful song from the 1979 album. Some marvelous dramatic instrumentation here!
Thank you for uploading oh-true-Jethro-Tull -fan!

Why do you put that strange series of letters after every comment?
