Jennings, Waylon - The Last Letter Lyrics
Why do you treat me as if I were only a friend
What have I done that has made you so distant and cold
Sometimes I wonder if you'll be contented again
Will you be happy when you are withered and old.
And I can't offer you clothes your young body crave
But if you'd love me and say that you'll always be mine
Think of the heartaches the tears and the sorrow, you'll save honey.
When you are weary and tired of another man's gold
If you ever get lonesome remember this letter my own
But don't try to answer though I've suffered sorrow untold
If you don't love me I wish you would leave me alone...

Beautiful song, Sad too🙏🧸
The great one of all is Waylon🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️♥️🧸🧸🧸🌟⭐️RIP
One of the saddest songs I've ever heard. It could only have been done by Waylon with "Mooney" to bring out such deep emotional "untold sorrow" Great job, I sure miss the one of a kind combination which was solid gold.
Waylon ,is with God, playing and singing his beautiful music, RIP
Thinking of you today Waylon.I love seeing your strong face singing that song! Thank God and people like Teddie for videos. Rest, baby

I love how he sings this song. He puts his heart into it. What a awesome singer. I wished I could have went to see him in person. 💙💚
Same, because Waylon is dead I know for sure I will never go to a western music concert, whats the point if its not Waylon.
This is the saddest song I think I have ever heard.
HE WAS A TREASURE!!!! ♡♡♡♡😘
Waylon was the master of the sad song and this is pretty sad , then again falling out of love always is .
I've never fallen out of love. I still love every woman I have ever loved
Waylon or Don Gibson
Hard to choose
But if pushed I go with Waylon
His songs are always beautiful.

How can it be that I never am tired listening to the songs performed by the great Waylon!
Don't know but if you ever find out please let me know because I never tire of listening to Waylon either. I can only guess it's because he was the best country singer that ever lived!

Nunca mais a música country será a mesma!!!!! Waylon era único!!!! Saudades.
No one can sing like Waylon Jennings, his soulful voice, baritone, and just beautiful.
Il M I G L I O R E
Not bragging but I sound just like him lol.
This song was written by Rex Griffin in 1937 and is as great today as it was then. Recorded by everyone from George Jones to Rosalie Sorrels. This is as good a version as there is. Thanks for posting.
Waylon never used the real last line as Rex had it wrote--" don't try to answer , when you read this Last letter I'll be gone."
שיר שנכנס ישר ללב לשמוע ולהתרפק עליו

He had 3 ex-wives, so he must have experienced a lot of heart breaks in his life...which is what made him a great songwriter!......God made him a great singer!
funny, the greatest songwriter of all time was with the same woman until he died !
