Jennings, Waylon - Never Been To Spain Lyrics
Well, I've never been to Spain
But I kinda like the music
Say the ladies are insane there
And they sure know how to use it.
They don't abuse it,
Never gonna lose it.
Well, I've never been to England
But I kinda like the Beatles
I was headed for Las Vegas
I only made it out to Needles.
But can't you feel it,
You must believe it
'Cause it feels so good.
But I've been to Oklahoma
People tell me I was born there
Lord, I really don't remember.
In Oklahoma or Arizona
What does it matter.
Well, I've never been to Spain
But I kinda like the music
Say the ladies are insane there
And they sure know how to use it.
They don't abuse it,
Can't refuse it,
Never gonna lose it...

The best version of "Never Been to Spain" !!!!!!!!! thank you Waylon Jennings
thank you from German Man
Not saying a word lmao
The 20 people who disliked this i hope Waylon comes to your house with a double barrel
They aren't worth the effort.
Looks kinda like The Dude
FIX AUDIO
What is wrong with the audio? Sounds fine here.
I gotta say this is better than the Three Dog Night and Elvis versions
I agree.
Waylon is the KING! Greatest Country Western singer to ever live.
Unrivalled
Ladies Love Outlaws! Its one of my favorite Waylon Jennings albums!
Still...... WJ!
This is the best version of this song I have heard!! Love it😍
Elvis Presley have covered
"In Oklahoma... or in a coma, what does it matter" It really doesn't matter! ".. Original lyrics which were changed to "In Oklahoma or Arizona.. in order not to "offend" Okies ..
These songs are sung by the best
Damn that steel guitar
I have this song on an album named 'Super Country Hits Vol. 6' under the RCA label. Of course it's a vinyl LP record that I bought by the seventies as far as I can remember.
Best version out here....loved Waylon...never forgotten.
I grew up listening to all the greats...reminds me of my dad. I love Waylon. This might be my favorite song.
YEAH Oklahoma
No está mal, pero prefiero la versión de Elivas
A cada uno su propio hombre.
Never been to Spain, don't got plans to go there
Waylon always had better covers than the original. Thanks for posting.
+mctacohellshits You are very welcome.
wildthundachicken wrong. This version sucks
blah blah Yeah, apparently Waylon ain’t for you. It’s man music.
I love kiking back listening to some ole willie Waylon Hank David Allen Coe....etc. just kick back and put a dip in and relax
This is a Hoyt Axton tune which worked well for Waylon, Elvis and Three Dog Night.
Patrick L Hoyt Axton is one of the best song writers of his time, he worked his fingers to the bone so we could hear good songs.
Never Liked the Three Dog Night Version. This version redeems it..
Yes it does. No Doubt.
Terry Corcoran you obviously have zero taste in good music. This cover sucks ass
I like both pretty good
this songs great! Love Waylon <3 :D
I agree absolutely.
you know when you think you love an artist, read about him/her, live your life like them becasue you're so influenced? well i thought i knew waylon after listening to so much of him, but i've never listened to this song. so i've been fooled, he is so much more than what i thought he was, he is the man, he is the boss, he is HOSS. WAYLON FOR EVER!
I like elvis but I consider him an imposter compared to waylon, sorry man but we can have different feelings... but just so you know I meant best version of waylons Lol
what year did the big man die?
Nice name.

@393523 thanks
@pecvillian it's called "waylon: an autobiography"
@393523 Thanks for the info. I am going to have to buy that autobiography
This was released when waylon was sick with hepatitis. It wasn't finished. He had only done scratch vocals. The record company released it without telling waylon and he was pissed. Scratch vocals is when the singer is letting the band do their thing, Then the singer would come back later and concentrate on their vocals. The album was Ladies Love Outlaws. By the way, I got all this from Waylons autobiography.

Thanks for the info Jim.
'Never Been To Spain'.. Big 'Three Dog Night' song written by Hoyt Axton who's mother Mae Axton co-wrote 'Heartbreak Hotel' and was influential in getting Elvis to RCA. Later Mae Axton worked as a publicist and she went to Coolidge AZ
a couple times. While there she met Waylon at the radio station. Waylon had moved to AZ and was working as a DJ, not making much $. She asked the owner to give Waylon a raise...and he did!!.....Little did she know in a couple years.......
'Never Been To Spain'.
Recorded by Waylon May 16 1972 and on the 'Ladies Love Outlaws' album released Sept 1972 .... The album Waylon disliked the most...and he really disliked his version of 'Never Been To Spain' and did not want it to be released.
Waylon did like the album cover...that little girl is his niece Ladonna....
srj
Thanks Eddie.
Thanks for the comment. Hd did have some great ones didn't he.
