Jennings, Waylon - Crying Lyrics

I was all right for a while
I could smile for a while
But when I saw you last night
You held my hand so tight.

When you stopped to say hello
And though you wished me well
You couldn't tell that I'd been:

Crying over you
Crying over you
Then you said, So long.
Left me standing all alone
Alone and crying, crying, crying, crying.

It's hard to understand
That the touch of your hand
Can start me crying.

I thought that I was over you
But it's true, so true
I love you even more
Than I did before.

But darling, what can I do
Oh, you don't love me
And I'll always be
Crying over you.

Crying over you.
Yes, now you're gone
And from this moment on
I'll be crying, crying, crying, crying.

I'm crying, crying
Oh, oh, oh over you...

  3. P.... C....

I like this version but the best was Roy Orbison.

  4. R.... G....

I grew up with Waylon in Littlefield, Texas. 38 miles Northwest of Lubbock, Texas. He was about 3 years older and first played music at the old Palace Theatre. Later met his uncle Elvis Shipley in Lovington, New Mexico where I served as a District Judge. Elvis drove a water truck for an oilfield Servicing Company. Elvis told me a lot about Waylon I did not know.

    W.... R....

    Best version ever

  10. W.... R....

This excellent version is on my great voices playlist !!

  11. W.... R....

The very best version Ever made!!

  12. H.... M....

You done GOOD on that one, "Hoss"!

  13. T.... S....

As a life long Waylon fan I can honestly say he did not beat Roy Orbison on this one. Most of the time I like his version better but Roy is just in another league of his own. It's a good cover tho I give Waylon props for doing it

    T.... S....

Thats your listening preference. If you wanted to impress the ladies with your voice you would have chosen Waylons voice over Roys. When it comes to singing the panties off the ladies Waylon is a lightyear ahead.

    T.... S....

I agree Waylon did a stellar performance of this song , but Roy has a voice that cannot be replaced, and I am a life long fan of both.my dad had Roy's records and mom had Waylon Jennings records , so you could say I had the best of both worlds

    T.... S....

That is true. I love both versions. I will forever be a Waylon fan. Both him and Roy are unforgettable legends in there own ways

  14. C.... C....

Waylon told Buddy Holly ," I hope your damned ole plane crashes." moments before the doomed flight. The big bopper took Waylon's seat according to Jennings's account.

    C.... C....

It was a joke. And yes, he politely gave up his seat for Big Bopper.

    C.... C....

Afterwards, he felt guilty for both.

  15. d.... s....

Waylon is my favourite artist and like Richie said no one person can sing crying like Roy, butt i'm so impressed that Waylon even tried the cover. Waylon nailed it

    d.... s....

I love Waylon too, but Johnny Cash is my favorite.

  16. R.... B....

It's an okay cover. Still can't beat Orbison's version though.

  17. l.... n....

Brilliant version no doubt. Does not get as high on the last note though. Remember what Elvis said about Roy ....Hes the only one that can out sing me.

  18. U.... ....

Waylon was good but he damn sure couldn't top Orbison on that song. Look up  Unchained Melody by Waylon for one of the best covers ever.

  19. .... ....

    Very Nice!!
    Thanks!!

  20. v.... v....

That's our favourite and greatest Walon.
    Never forgotten and seldom bettered.
RIP dear Walon, remembered forever by your countless fans.

  21. b.... ....

Had a friend who was a guitar player and singer in Phoenix when Waylon was playing at Lucky's.  He played a short time with Waylon.  He said that when Waylon would sing  "Crying" people would go crazy at the end of the song when he hit that high note.  Waylon is a legend with an untouchable voice and was also a great song writer and telecaster picker.  Whenever I get to thinking I'm a pretty good singer, I listen to Waylon and just marvel and become humbled.  I miss him and his music so much...but he left us volumns to listen to.

    b.... ....

Johnny Cash was the best singer, but Waylon was great.

    b.... ....

    bigsbyslur I would have too!

    b.... ....

the late great Roy Orbison was the Best Singer in the World !!!
there are Singers ,....... then there is Roy Orbison !
Elvis often said , ..... '' The Greatest Voice in the World ! ''
Elvis is the King of Music , ...... Roy Orbison is the Grand Prince
and Waylon was the Best Voice in Country Music !

    b.... ....

bigsbyslur That's a pretty neat story! I know what you mean, Waylon was definately a high note singer! I would love to have seen one of his shows.

    b.... ....

Waylon Jennings will always be the best. The most magical singer that’s ever existed. I love his music so much it hurts sometimes

  22. F.... B....

    Goeie musiek

  23. B.... H....

Wow that is a great version off that Orbison song I have ever herd, but than again Waylon can sing the phone book and I we'll love it !!!

    B.... H....

@Brenda Hancock Why don't you learn to spell? You've mis-spelled the two, three and four letter words.

    B.... H....

@Ron Felix what is this english class?? Calm down Ron; Brenda is right on. Your spelling and grammer are fine, but your not too entertaining; are you?

    B.... H....

Brenda: well said - i fully agree with you!

    B.... H....

Brenda, usually I think its stupid to use that phrase but in Waylons case I tend to agree. Can only imagine how many girls Waylon nailed in his time, at least until the diabetes destroyed this circulation in a certain place but that was likely many decades later.

  24. G.... P....

    heart is melting...

  25. M.... ....

Waylon Like Cash was always best when the songs had short vocal ranges so they could just over power their back round music....this is not a good example of Waylon overpowering a song.  The Song wins on this one....

  26. i.... ....

My breath is jamming, so much beautiful.... Vielen dank
