Jarosz, Sarah - The Tourist Lyrics
It barks at no one else but me
Like it's seen a ghost
I guess it’s seen the sparks a-flowing
No one else would know
Idiot, slow down, slow down
Sometimes I get overcharged
That's when you see sparks
You ask me where the hell I'm going
At a thousand feet per second
Hey man slow down, slow down
Idiot slow down, slow down
Idiot slow down, slow down

Jarosz, Sarah The Tourist Comments
To think she was just 20 years old.
It's all so far away now
She is THE BOMB
Beautiful
Wow. Just... wow.
Haunting, haunted. Beautiful.
Wish it didn't have the annoying ukulele in it and just her voice
Surely you are joking about a ukele being in this song.
chords anyone?

The Deep State many thanks
This is the song i bring everyone to introduce them to Sarah Jarosz
This kind of thing would make a great drop in a playlist
I was in love with this girl over her talent and cover of right on, and I have just heard this cover of a song by my favorite band.. Love her..
Chills. Chills all day.
"Heeyyy maaaaaaaan,
slooow doowwwwwn.
slowwww doowwwwwwn.
Idioooot, slooowww dowwwn.
Sloww dowwwwwwwwwn."
I prefer this version that Radiohead's, I mean their song has a nice music but Yorke's voice doesnt attract me that much as Sarah's! Love this woman!
Radiohead wrote this and sung it originally
She sings this so enchantingly beautiful!
I like this alot more than i thought i would
love the harmonics in this
It barks at no one else but me
Like it's seen a ghost
I guess it seen the sparks a-flowing
No one else would know
Hey man slow down, slow down
Idiot, slow down, slow down

Hey man slow down, slow down
Idiot slow down, slow down
Hey man slow down, slow down
Idiot slow down, slow down
A song that's nearly five minutes long has less than 100 words and still manages to be one of the most touching works of art in recent years. Amazing.
this is how you do a good cover
Very beautiful, painful too.
That's amazing, THANKS!!!!!!!
It barks at no one else but me
Like it's seen a ghost
I guess it seen the sparks a-flowing
No one else would know
Hey man slow down, slow down
Idiot, slow down, slow down

although i think the original radiohead is superior, this is superb such a beautiful voice and wonderful production too.
Discovered her because of the peyton manning song...i have been in love ever since. American art done proud!!!
It continues to amaze me the realm of variety she chooses as covers. I never thought I would like folk grassroots scene, but she completely has my attention on any song she sings.
+Joshua Whitley it's amazing what she has accomplished at 24...
+Sharon Mickey I listen to her and totally feel the dimensions of her talent. she has a way to make me feel like nothing else matters in that moment. she is a star and I'm in her solar system
+Sharon Mickey she's an old soul. makes me wonder if this is her first life or second reincarnation. 24 amazing
I hear Chris Thile's voice in there.
+Stephen Wilson I thought that too! I looked it up, and it's definitely him. Sarah and Punch Brothers have been known to do the song together. Chris Thile makes any song better.
this is the Punch Brothers backing Sarah on this track
This song at Cambridge Folk reduced me to my elements!
This is fucking beautiful. Words fail.
she's amazing !
Whoa. Great song choice by her.
love the instrumentation & her voice... reminds me of a fast talkin banjo lass met nigh 4yrs ago
It's so weird hearing a different version of this song as the original is probably by favourite song ever
skippin like fandango, turnin cartwheels cross the floor. this Sara take on an already great song goes to new places like a ferry ride into another world.
You sang this tonight in New York at the 92nd Y. It was transcendent.
Sounds eerily similar to Thom.
Stupenda interpretazione.
Radiohead brought me here to listen to this great cover, what a voice!
That's a Radiohead song? will have to listen to original. The few songs I've heard of theirs sounded nothing like that. Sarah is a force of nature. Now if she just starts writing more of her own material...
Obviously the harmonies she's adding are her own, but the original has the same feel and pace of her rendition.
try , The Punch Brothers playing radiohead covers, if you want more.
+Roy Lay The original is much better than this lol.
Sure but nice cover.
I'm fairly sure the Punch Brothers are on this.
they are
Love the bluegrass touch on this one. I did a piano cover of Karma Police awhile back if you would like to check it out. http://youtu.be/u9GPF-NJgdw
Love all of her stuff but this is probably mt favorite piece that she does...the chaos between the instruments that still manages to be in time and rythm with each other along with that harmoney of the vocals.....I cant ever explain it to someone who has never heard it before.
I love it though
Well said.
Do you have a clip of her doing ( let the mystery be )?
Loved her sounds, after seeing her on transatlantic sessions.
Fantastic cover and please do not overlook the absolutely double-plus genius banjo by Noam Pikelny, who currently plays with Chris Thile in the Punch Brothers. ( I THINK that's Chris Thile singing the harmony part with Sara)...oh hell, Hargreaves' violin is genius too...it's genius, all the way down, mister!
Yeah, was gonna say that. I'm 100% certain that's Chris singing the low harmony. His voice is unmistakable—and pitch-perfect as always, of course.
According to the Wiki article on Follow Me Down, you're almost entirely correct, but Gabe Witcher played violin on the track.
wow who would ever guess she's a Radiohead fan. like I said before every Radiohead fan is unique. awesome cover.
This song turned me on to Radio Head. Absolutely haunting and here she is in my own back yard.
Once in a great while a song comes along that lets the soul off of its leash...
Where the blank did you come from? HEAVEN? You teach the angels to sing. Don't ever change this.
you did...
I thought I heard Chris Thile in there...
Simply wonderful. Just wow. What a song. (And that violin solo has SOUL.)
Same here
I caught a performance of hers on Austin City Limits, been a fan ever since.
When Eric Whitacre recommends a song, I feel compelled to listen and am never disappointed. Love her sound!
I could not agree more. Just stunning and so clean. I'm glad they kept it pretty similar except the bluegrass feel of course. I just adore it.
Delicious!!!
This is a great cover.
This is one of my favorites!!
Finally, a Radiohead cover that isn't awful. Kudos to you.
Very nice, good voice, good song, perfect version lol
That's also Chris singing the harmony!
Jesus, that first solo is almost more powerful than the one in the original. It's one of my favorite Radiohead songs, my all-time favorite final song on a record, and this rendition is just gorgeous. I will have to show all my friends, wherever they are... also, those fiddles just knock me out. Home freakin run
me too I love this song it touches my sould from the melody to the lyrics it moves my sould and with this womans voice it adds a beautiful essence i too have become a fan of hers...
This knocked the wind outta me, chills ravished my entire body, & my eyes almost overflowed! The passion Thom & Radiohead put into writing the music & the lyrics, were executed just as brilliantly through the vocals of Sarah & Chris Thile, AS WELL AS, the phrasing of all the instrumentalists involved, which must've been The Punch Brothers!!! Wow, INTENSE!
I wonder who flagged this as spam.
Awesome clarity on the long holds.
radiohead's version is one of my favorite of their songs, and one of my favorite on the album. but this version is better!
good stuff
If your going to do a Radiohead cover... Call Chris Thile!
Oh Dios!... Qué tema tan hermoso.
Geeeez, incredible cover, great spacing.
This is a great version of the song.
@RoadwayFlo
This in unbelievably brilliant. I hope I can her this live one day.
saw her at the folk fest in calgary so good!
i love playing this on piano, the final minute you can get all carried away with it.
Love her voice
brilliant
i grew up on blue grass. As a child going to festivals, it would sooth me. But this is beyond, its giving me such peace in my soul... i cant explain
Beautiful cover. Radiohead would be proud:)
she's playing at bonnaroo, and so is radiohead! i hope they both play this song!
She got big at a small festival in austin called old settlers by winning a youth competition. From there on out she's gotten huge. She played at old settlers 2012 and i saw her
its like she's staring right in to my soul...
Corporate Love Breakdown did a great Radiohead instrumental Bluegrass Tribute (much much better than the usual bluegrass tribute)
A fantastic version of Radiohead's gorgeous song. I love it!
wonderful.
and i don't know the original song..
its weird, before i even saw this was the radioe head cover i knew by her playing that it was probably radiohead
i think i have just fallen in love... :3
Can't get over this. so good.
@KATAO333 It's Noam Pikelny on banjo
@teresad0777 Its either Sarah or Bela Fleck.
WOW thank you!
This girl is wonderful. Wonderful because Radiohead is my favourite band and well how the hell can I not like someone for sharing the same GREAT taste in music as I do? Fabulous cover. Feel free to do as many Radiohead covers as your heart can handle.
I'm in love
@sonofsam22 It sounds like Chris Thile to me too. And knowing how much he likes Radiohead, that would make perfect sense.
IS that Chris Thile of nickel creek singing the background vocals and throwing down some mandolin? Cos this is dumbfounding to me. literally 3 of some of the very best stand-alone artists in my opinion, Chris Thile, Sarah Jarosz, both covering Radiohead! Good Lord that's amazing. It's like a dream I've always wanted to come true!
