Janis Joplin - Trouble In Mind Lyrics
Trouble in mind, I'm blue
But I won't be blue always,
'Cause that sun is gonna shine in my back door someday
Now all you men's the same
Lord, that sun's gonna shine in my back door someday
I'm gonna lay my head
On that lonesome railroad line
And let the 2:19 ease my troubled mind
Trouble in mind, I'm blue,
But I won't be blue always
Child, that wind's gonna come and blow my blues away!

Janis Joplin Trouble In Mind Comments
Her voice inspires so much tenderness. Lovely Janis! I do very much enjoy Sister Rosetta Tharpe's version for its cheerfulness, too, but Joplin is special.
Brittany Murphy brought me here ❤️
Trouble in mind, I'm blue
But I won't be blue always,
'Cause that sun is gonna shine in my back door someday

But now I'm old enough to change my name

On that lonesome railroad line
And let the 2:19 ease my troubled mind
Trouble in mind, I'm blue,

I never knew she did this tune
This is my favorite version of this song and its not on spotify :(
Really? That's a true bummer man
@Dustin Ayres yeah but theres plenty of other cool versions. I just grew up hearing this one.
First time I heard it, I was hooked. Only version I've heard. Her voice is so good
Would've loved to hear her and SRV, the Texas legends
Who's playing that amazing guitar?
Jorma Kaukonen
Goddamn this hits me really hard. Rest in peace Janice.
wiping a tear, love ole Janis. Shame she never felt the earthly love that the world would shower on her if she'd been in a alternate time. She hit the soul in enough beatnik and bold bikers in a perfect mix that her soul was free enough to keep her true gutteral heartbreak and pain ((yet a giggle)) to show that it,too, will pass in good time honey!!
Beautifully said!

Eternamente Janis Joplin Rainha divina amo i Love Janis Joplin!!!

1962 at Ken Threadgill's ?
or 1963
I'm trying to do this on my electric guitar 🎸
In 1964, with Jorma Kaukonen on guitar - while his wife, Margareta, was typing a letter to her parents in Sweden - in one take, this was recorded in the house they rented on Fremont Street in Santa Clara, CA; Janis was only twenty-two years old.
No Computers, DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), Audio Interface, Studio Monitors, Cables, Pop Filters, Bass Traps, Acoustic Panels, Diffusers, Reflection Filters, Monitor Isolation Pads, Rack Mounts, Power Conditioners, Microphone Preamps, Headphone Amps, Monitor Management System, Virtual Instruments (software), MIDI Controllers, Electronic Drum Kit, Control Surface, Software/Plugins, Snake Cables, Direct Box, Digital Converters, Master Clocks or Analog Hardware. Just a 1960's portable tape recorder. And this song penetrates the soul.
What's that tell you?
"If these blues don't leave me, Lord, I'll have to run away from here"................
john mckelkey I thought it was rock away from here seeing as the line before was gonna bring along my rocking chair
@robert blodgett Yeah, it's rock away
there is a problem with the interpretation , isn't it .....

Oh, Janis...blue, blue and Blues, you got the real trouble in mind.
Valeu boa noite, também sou viciado em janes
Pobre drogadicta,ahogada en su vomito.
I love Janis and Jorma's version of this classic! <3
Tiff me too! This is probably my favorite vocal sound of Janis with her accent is so authentic and chill bump inducing-- the keystrokes cause me to tap my feet and dance differently than if were absent( like it belonged there for a cosmic reason!!)
Oh Janis, Janis....my sweet and crazy Janis

nada como escuchar persecución proveniente de una maquina de escribir ... Janis sera siempre la mejor.
Janice started out her career singing blues..
Absolutely! :)
Janis was blues - even rockers (Combination of the Two) became bluesy when she sang.
Glad I was around to hear her music.
Love, Janis.
she did it, it was dun.
Just another Texican...
She def IS one the greatest soul blues singers. got that NewOrleans feel to it.
Easily my favorite Janis song.
So much emotion in her voice.
Robert Johnson - "Sweet Home Chicago"
Quite wonderful. Yet she died before her mature work could be done - one of the tragedies of rock music.
Dirty typewriter riff!
That's someone else's blood ;)
You used to rock out to this but it looks like you smashed your head on something.
God!!! Nobody compares to Janis!!! Tell me that fucking Katy Perry can stand up to Janis.....and I'll tell you to go wipe your ass with a brillo pad
Missi Garrison brillo pad?! DAMN haha
I used to rock out to this song hard as a teenager. I was born in the wrong time.
Mi negra adorada Janis!

Bela Janis, Pearl.
I was looking for some nina simone songs and i find this great artist
Meet Gika Bacci, revelation of Blues in Brazil.
With influences from Janis Joplin she enchants with its magnificent voice.
The front of the Rod of Blues she brings to the music scene a differential to delight the ears.
Rod of Blues and Gika Bacci.
When she was a teen she'd bomb around Port Arthur with her few friends and they'd sing to radio--all except Janis. When asked why she didn't, she started to. They stopped.
7 got TROUBLE IN MIND......
Soul sista, i'm lovin it!
Thanks to you!
Happy 70th Birthday, Janis!! THAT WAS HOT!!!! Simple, Gritty, & Raw!!!!
we have 4 dislikes now... still ok.. I just wonder how on earth the people who could potentially dislike this song could arrive at this page?..
qe loca linda eras janis!!
Typewriter Tapes with Jorma
No. Jorma Kaukonen (jefferson airplane) on guitar and his wife at the type writer. She was typing a letter to her mother....from what I understand. Still..I love these old cuts.
Keep rocking everyone. Ive been thinking about posting more music... any suggestions?
la mejor cantante de todos los tiempos
They didn't have a percussion instrument, so used a typewriter :-)
yeah, someone is working in the background on old school equipment, as if it was an integral part of the original. Or am i hearing things? Maybe I'm hearing the work i should rather be doing
I used to have this as a bootleg. Much of the album had a typewriter in the background. Perhaps an early rehearsal next door to an office?
typewritter sessions con jorma! pocas grabaciones son tan grosas
braaaaaaiiins!! hay que matar a un infeliz!!
such a good song. I gotta hear it again
@ImNotHighLoL913 I think too!!
Awesome!
