I am confused with people saying that their friends don' t know for Janis J. It's kind of strange because everybody everywhere I meet know for her and most of hers songs. Even the ones that don't enjoy this kind of music can lyrics her popular songs, even my mother who don't speak English. It's kind of a part of general knowledge I think. The same as knowing for Beethoven or Picasso even tho you'r not practising their art.

Meh. I think Janis was better when understated. To me most of her stuff is unlistenable. It reminds me of that trend to do "runs" like Mariah Carey. So phony and unemotional. Just "look, isn't it cool that I can do this?"
