I can't think of his name off the top of my head, but google Full Tilt Boogie Band, and that should tell you who the lead guitarist was. I know that most, if not all, of them were Canadian.

You see a TON of young singers on tv these days that all can sing great, but they all sound the same. First, you have to have your heart broken to sing the blues and sing from your SOUL to connect with the audience! That's the trouble with these people on shows like "America got Talent"etc..They all sound the same....they lack the experience that only a few broken hearts under a belt can give! You have to give into the pain ..the sorrow...the ecstacy.....the moment....and recreate it on stage. That's when you break away from the pack and you TRULY become something SPECIAL and UNIQUE..like Janis Joplin was!

You can't fake soul. And Janis had it in spades! The first time I saw this I had to pull my jaw off the floor; it was so astonishingly good. And it still is. She was one of a kind and left us way too soon.

I don't like the guitar break in this version (I was never really a fan of The Full Tilt Boogie Band) But Pearl is amazing as usual! Hard to believe this was one of her last concerts. McMahon Stadium, Calgary, July 4 1970.

This was from the Calgary concert on the Festival Express Tour. It was July 4, 1970 so all of the Americans in the crowd and on the stage were into celebrating. Was an awesome warm night and the crowd was definitely into this show. I saw this concert. Will always remember how wonderful it was .. Janis died exactly 3 months later ...RIP .. Janis - October 4, 1970.

worst solo ever in rock history. 1:47 he's just sliding patterns up and down the neck and jacking off when he's not doing that. oh wow look 2:30 , he's bending a note over and over. Not one second of that was good.
A lot of this music seemed great because of the live vibe and moreover everyone was fucked up on drugs

I agree the solo is bad, but the rest of the song is great, even with the few sloppy moments. Janis give all she got and the groove is very good.
P.S.: I'm not on drugs.
