Janet Jackson - Come Give Your Love To Me Lyrics

How can I get you to notice that I want you
My heart's on fire with desire 'cause I love you
There's no time for waiting, begging, I would tell you
So there's no doubt, I'll spell it, come give it to me
Give it

[Chorus:]
Come give your love to me
Come give your love to me
Come give your love to me
Come give your love to me

You've turned the spark of my love into a raging flame
And now I need to convince you to feel the same
So don't you stay over there talkin' 'bout the way I feel
'cause, baby, talk is cheap, actions speaks louder than words

[Repeat chorus]

Hey baby love, just don't make me wait
For you, I'm so weak
You know I'll do anything it takes, so I beg you please

  9. b.... x....

I read that she only did the first 2 albums to please Joe Jackson. He picked the producers and pretty much oversaw the whole thing with the first two, but I own both and other than Rhythm Nation, Control and, Janet these two were among my favorites.

  10. C.... C....

I so remember this album! First beginnings before Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis!

  11. P.... B....

I remember seeing this like it was yesterday...

  12. b.... 1....

Is that the same guitarist from Shalamar's "Dead Give Away?"

  13. L.... L....

    so good

  14. D.... &....

"Fresh" "Young & Natural" pre-packaged Janet.....caught my attention with "Young Love" and SLAMMED me with this jam; a "Pop" Punk-Rock number...BTW that was one of the the dances that went with that "short-lived" "New-Wave" trend. Carlton just picked it up....lol

  15. B.... G....

But she moves just like her brother Michael in his old videos to... Look closer and compare... frfr

  16. E.... V....

    She looks a little embarrassed

  17. Q.... D....

This is when Janet couldn't dance and she stand there in the same spot and didn't work the stage. One two Janet dance and now it's call the Carlton

    Q.... D....

Yes she could dance, she didnt have any one to teach her new moves

  23. e.... m....

    Rubbish...
    She was manufactured.
    Paula Abdul is the talent

    e.... m....

You probably also think a can of Spaghetti O's taste better then a home-made spaghetti dinner made by an italian woman.

    e.... m....

@Anthony Coleman she s not dancing Paula Abdul talent here!!

    e.... m....

@ellioshie m if you go back to the Jackson series, Janet had always been able to dance. However, here she is absent stage presence. Maybe, a bad day or being forced by dad to perform.

  24. C.... ....

One of my favorite early Janet songs. Not one of her best performances. She's still shy and guarded here.

    C.... ....

At that time it was a good performance

  25. D.... M....

they left the best part of the song out

  26. I.... ....

Thats one of my favorite songs til this day.

  27. T.... j....

  30. L.... D....

I miss the 1980s so much. Haha I remember wearing a key on my Earrings trying to mimic Miss Janet Jackson style. She also favored RIP Miss Dorothy Dandridge in the earlier 1980s.

  39. R.... M....

Love it! Love love love Janet!! Akways have!! Love that 80's vibe!

  40. m.... ....

I want that outfit she's wearing

  41. a.... b....

I watched her sing this on Dance Fever I said no black female singer was doing this stuff I was hooked cause she was outside the box music wise

  42. J.... W....

I wish she would perform this song on tour.🤗

  43. v.... ....

    THE QUEEN everybody loves!

  44. M.... C....

Is that a car on her shirt?

  45. M.... C....

What's with the red handkerchief on the right knee? And the key earring in her right ear?

    M.... C....

The handkerchief tied around the pants (usually banded around 80's style tight parachute pants with multiple zippers) was sported as a 'break-dance fashion' fad of the early to mid 80's. Some kids in the new-wave & post-punk scenes had been doing it at that time as well. Never really did understand it, but yes, lol, it was a thing at the time. The same goes for the key earring, and sometimes a single earing donned in one ear.

    M.... C....

the earring held a key to her animal enclosures.

  46. K.... M....

She has come a long way with her dance moves, thank goodness for Paula Abdul

    K.... M....

Bye Paula did not teach her to dance she choreographed a dance for her so cut it out

    K.... M....

it has more to do with practise than paula abdul.

    K.... M....

Thank gawd Paula Abdul STOP SINGING

  47. p.... l....

Look At my Sista just so young there shes my idol for life Queen of Pop baby

  48. M.... ....

    dISCOLARRY TY FOR SHARING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  49. B.... ....

Look at Charlene, Willis' girlfriend from Diff'rent Strokes

  50. R.... M....

I loved that song as well the beat is truly the 80's sound, she was adorable and still is today and definitely the blueprint of every female relevant today!

  51. B.... ....

    Love love love this song

  52. N.... s....

Let me find out Janet Jackson created "The Carlton Dance"... 🤔😂

    N.... s....

    NOLA soulchild yup. #webeenknew

    N.... s....

    😆😆😆

    N.... s....

No this is how white kids danced in the early 80s!

    N.... s....

Eddie Murphy created the Carlton, in either Raw or Delirious I’m leaning toward Raw

  53. M.... H....

After hearing this song, I fell in love with Janet...Miss Jackson if you're nasty....LOL!

  54. M.... H....

    love it my 80s

  55. P.... B....

    Hollywood ROYALTY 📺🎤💰🎥🔥🔥👏👏👏

    JANET JACKSON 📝

  56. M.... R....

I remember when she performed this on AB. My how time flies.

  57. T.... W....

I actually like the Janet Jackson album and Dream Street I wish she made videos for the singles which is possibly why they didn't do justice Dream Street album had a video for the title of the album but still did no wonders at least Young Love and Come Give Your Love To Me charted on billboard Say You Do should of charted to back then.

  58. D.... W....

Her best song pre' jam & lewis

    D.... W....

    Daron Washington her best period

  59. b.... ....

I might be in the minority but I love Janet's debut album. This song stays in rotation.

    b.... ....

You aren't it was one of my favorite album too I used to have it on cassette when the album was out.

    b.... ....

I loved this album, luv this song classic

  60. j.... ....

When janet blossomed into a young woman she didn't understand her power, young men instantly fell in love her and she really can sing and dance just adds more fuel to that fire. So grateful we grew up together!!!

  61. R.... Y....

You all can kiss Janet Jackson ass

  62. m.... ....

cool 80s new wave sound -_-

    m.... ....

This was released in 1982 & this sound was what was happening then. I'm sure that this song was "edgy" for a 16y.o. back then.

    m.... ....

ISAAC WILLIAMS Where did the last thirty-five years go?

  63. T.... J....

Wow. This song terrible She's performing this as if someone threatened her backstage.

    T.... J....

Tania Jones lol! Keep in mind that she was only around 16 at the time.

    T.... J....

Tania Jones ..this was a nice song.she was only15.16 what do you suppose she should be singing.. and why u watching if u don't like.

    T.... J....

+Mark D I love how posters get so easily offended when another poster comments on how they dislike a video. Ever heard of someone giving something a chance to see if they like something or not?

    T.... J....

This song is very nice and this is the 80's she didnt have all the bell and whistles of now, shes only 16yr girls didn't look like sluts on stage then

  64. A.... A....

I've bee a fan since 10, back than I knew she would be a big star,

  65. A.... ....

COME GIVE YOUR LOOOOVE TO MEEEE <3 GIVE IT TO MEEE !

  66. C.... S....

    entered Billboard Feb 5, 1983 ..reached #58

  67. M.... B....

Love Come Give Your Love To Me still listen to her Janet Jackson and Dream Street albums

  68. I.... W....

I'm 49 y.o. but I remember as a teen in the early 80's, the dance she's doing was VERY popular. I don't know the name of it, but I always saw white kids doing it at that time.😃 Janet was almost like a black valley girl at that point.

    I.... W....

@MC Avant she was finding her voice/style I guess

    I.... W....

MC Avant It wasn't a major hit album but it did get steady airplay on black radio. All in all it was a decent debut and the music is reflective of the early 80's r&b, new wave, pop.

    I.... W....

@Susan Dee this album went gold ..so there..

    I.... W....

@Susan Dee she had a very good voice at that time

    I.... W....

    @Anthony Cogburn Where?

  69. T.... F....

The only time she song songs from her Janet Jackson and Dream Street albums was the rockwitchu tour

  70. T.... F....

  74. J.... S....

    So young and talented. Wow

  75. M.... M....

    I love you janet

  76. 4.... T....

She always overlooked her first 2 albums songs the only time she song these songs again was on the rockwitchu tour

    4.... T....

That's because she has sooo many hits, and she's got like 2 and a half hours to do them in...if she sang a little of everything, we'd be there ALL NIGHT! LMAO!!! (not like that's a bad thing..):P

    4.... T....

She did made the song All Nite the lyric said she can dance all nite

  77. o.... ....

She's so friggin' cute. Janet was always beautiful.

  78. M.... R....

I still have the album. Jesse produced three tracks on the album. Including Young Love. Fact. Check the liner notes.

    M.... R....

Rene and Angela did 'Young Love' and 'Say You Do' most of the 1st side. ~ Foster, Leon and Charmaine Sylvers did 'Come Give Your Love To Me' and most of side 2. Marlon Jackson and Jessie Johnson worked on the Dream Street album. Jessie Johnson did (Pretty Boy and Fast Girls)and introduced her to Jam and Lewis and the rest is history.

  79. M.... R....

Produced by Jesse Johnson of The Time

    M.... R....

    Not true.

    M.... R....

some guy from the silvers (boogie fever) wrote it for her should be a interview video on here with dick clark asking her

    M.... R....

+Christopher o neal I remember that. Foster was the one who produced this.

  80. M.... B....

well her 1st 2 albums don't really count because it really didn't get her over really control and her later albulms did but she sing songs from 1st 2 albums sometimes

    M.... B....

I wish janet can go back and sing this song young love don't stand another chance dream street in her tours as special classic songs like she did at the rock witchu tour!

    M.... B....

+michael bosket I love it all from the beginning!

    M.... B....

I hope she sing her further classic songs from the beginning on her tours 1 day?

  81. N.... ....

Part 2..janet did her first songs later on tour

  82. N.... ....

People forget this faze of her career. I got the first 2 janet albums be 4 control.

    N.... ....

    +Neosoulgroovydude me too! :-)

    N.... ....

Janet Jackson and Dream Street are her true classic albums if it wasn't for them there wouldn't be her

    N.... ....

If it wasn't for her Janet Jackson and Dream Street album she probably wouldn't been a thing in the music industry but control is considered her first album so to say.

    N.... ....

I'll always remember those 2 albums. These were during the times when she was on Diff'rent Strokes and later, Fame.

  83. E.... B....

Janet before Paula got a hold of her:). I liked this song and a few others from her solo debut.

  92. l.... ....

I remember when this originally aired. LOVE the song and thought it was banging and it STILL bangs hard in '14!!!

  93. L.... W....

Yes, I remember this cut getting airplay on the Philly R&B station late '82-early '83. Janet was definitely struggling with the lip synching. I always believed she is a much better actress than singer.

    L.... W....

    Shes not struggling

  94. C.... Z....

takes me back to my elementary school days

  95. A.... E....

I love this track.....this is one of my songs by janet
