One of my favs from the "Urban Rapsody album. Thankful he featured "Jo Jo" (formerly the Mary Jane Girls) on it. The album had decent enough promotion to make a buzz. But for sure the true fans of Rick James couldn't wait to get their hands on it. Also, this track has similar melody to "Tell Me What You Want" from his 1983' album Cold Blooded. Billy Dee Williams makes a powerful cameo contribution to the song. Rick James was quite a songwriter, musician and being. I constantly look pass his bad days, just to appreciate his kinder and more organic worthier generous side. The late Jimi Hendrix was the same. Beautiful spirits caught up in the world filled with obstacles. Both gave just due acknowledgements to their band members. That's what made Rick James a beautiful soul. He thought of others just equal if not also before himself. Rest in peace brother Rick!!!!!!!!

This album SHOULD have gotten more cudo's.  Rick was an amazing artist in spite of his drug use.  I feel very sad for the life he lived. After reading his book, Glow, I have so much insight to the deep cat he was.  I listen to his music now with new ears. I was totally in love with his music the first time I heard it in the 70's.

I just read Ricks book, Glow. Teena was supposed to sing this but she was angry at him for something to do with his sister.  Too bad, I would have LOVED her voice with his again, he wrote this with Teena in mind.
